Re: FIN ROT

Thanks for the info! Ok so now I am wondering what the diff is between Maracyn and Maracyn II. I may switch to whichever one is best for FIN Rot after this last course of Ruby Reef. But I have to know which one to use :? Fin Rot is a bacterial infection: or so I've been told and read. So I don't kno...

Tetracycline Treatment for Fin Rot?

What have you guys expereinced with it? It's really gross and foams up the tank horrendously; and seems to stress the fish out alot. But, if it's the best way to go, then I will use it again....
Ruby Reef, Kana Pro, or Tetracycline...those are my current options....advice please?

FIN ROT

Have a long going case of fin rot in both tanks. I've been using Kana pro, Ruby Reef, and though they do get better, it seems that it's going downhill again. I want to know what you folks use for fin rot, and yes, we are keeping those tanks PRISTINE (ugh, i read an article that your fish tank water ...

Wow brutal, I haven't been on a while cause I shatterred my ankle and broke my tibea; but it sounds like you lost some of your loved bettas!! I'm so sorry :(. I hope you're feeling a bit better, it's been a while since your loss, and that things have turned around into a happy upswing and maybe some...

Re: BN pleco

Had same fears with our BN; with enough questions and research realized that they change color / patterns sometimes....it scares me still!
Anyway, don't fret, it's just like a mood ring....I think

Re: My dojo is worse... *CRY* (with pics)

What a horrific thing to have to deal with :(. I'm so sorry that you're going through this. My oldest dojo recently went through SOME similar things, body shape change, clamped fins, not eating, fast breathing....but no red streaks in the tail, and she got better on her own, just through water chang...

Re: Tail splitting

LoL I love the smell too. My fish have not had any adverse reaction to it, so I think I'll just treat with that for the full recommended length of time.

Re: Our house is CROOKED but problem fixed thank you !!!!!

Lol ok, yeah it is unsightly to have one side "full" and the other not so much. I think I'm still going to try the shim leveling thing, the closer the bubble gets to center the happier I'll be I think. I'ts real close to middle, so maybe I can get it 1/8 or so more with the wood. Gonna be a fun week...

Re: Tail splitting

I guess it could be something in the water quality that I don't know about. The regular parameters (nitrates nitrites etc) are all PERFECT, we do great water changes and have cut WAYYY back on feeding, plus the tank is planted, so we are finding the tank in pristine quality most of the time. :) I wo...

Tail splitting

Hi two of our dojo's have splits in their tails. I'm wondering whether it sounds like a fish on fish issue or more a health thing....been battle ich forever....big tank move the other day.....everyone seems ok, though, exept for the splits... The most aggressive things in the tank are: A bn Pleco an...

Re: How can I further spoil my little Dojos?

Not much experience here, as you may know, but I have to say, having a mama like you, they probably are living the absolute BEST life they can! Plenty spoiled indeed....as they should be! The "otters" of the fish world!

Re: Fun BN Observation

LoL You have the magic mating touch with those BN's, Starsplitter. And apparently, so does the big fella himself~! Lining up outside his cave indeed :D. That makes me look forward to the day I can bring home a girl (or five) for Mr. Plecostomoose :)!!! Perhaps he'll be less grumpy once that happens...

Re: Our house is CROOKED but problem fixed thank you !!!!!

Quote from Diana, If the stand is one that sits on the floor along its full width then you need to support it along its full width (not just in the corners). Sort of like needing an extra long shim. This is where I use cardboard. I cut several pieces, the first is almost the length of the stand, the...
