Re: Histrionica no longer available?

I think Histrionica are a bit seasonal. I have only found them twice in 5 years. Very nice fish. Better than Yoyos in many ways. I rarely see them in the fish shops, but I purchased 3 a few months ago that were labelled as Histrionica. They were pretty small to tell for sure if they are Histrionica...

That was a steal !

I love those little cyprinids but I have only 2, I had 3 but one died last month.
I have never seen them around here so I have not had an opportunity to add to my colony :(

Re: Facebook Group

It isn't exactly the sort of thing that facebook is used for Sure it is, I have albums of my fish on Facebook, just like other friends who have albums of dogs/cats/birds/reptiles whatever ... another friend...

Re: Some Shrimps Photos to Share

There's something with Florida water that makes keeping many of the shrimp very difficult. My parents used to live in Florida. When ever I visited them there, I did not drink the water, I did not like the sulphur or mineral taste, and in other parts of Florida, the water seemed very soft, like rain...

Oktoberfish 2012

Hi all, This past Sunday, my home club, the Kitchener-Waterloo Aquarium Society held their annual Oktoberfish Show and Auction. There is a Loach class in the show. Which one do you think was judged to be 1st place ? Young Orange Fin Botia: http://i29.photobucket.com/albums/c258/zenins/Misc%202012/IM...

I really like the stripe pattern on your histrionica, it's a very pretty fish. Quite a bit different from any of my histies.
Thanks.

I like the pattern on this Histionica, especially the tail, much bolder lines than on a YoYo ;)

Re: Floating Dojo

Must have been a swim bladder problem ? I am not sure if there are antibiotics that can help with that. My dojo/weather loaches will also float to the surface from time to time, but usually it is trapped gas in the digestive tract, I give them some "Pepso Food" from Jungle Labs, it makes them pass t...

Re: Loach Identification

My own observations with B. Histrionicas are that as juveniles their vertical bars tend to be solid and usually have no horizontal component to them. Again, this is "usual", I have a couple of fish that vary from this pattern somewhat. As they mature, the vertical bar will often split, resembling t...
