Re: What loach did I get?
Parabotia -- great find. I recall that l.disparis shipments from HK used to include rhinogobius as well as a fish that *looked like* small schistura, but might have been young parabotia..... Unfortunately, the Rhinegobius were sold when I got the Parabotia, as what I found was - the name Rhinegobius...

Re: Where to buy sinibotia
Just keep checking Aquabid and local stores.
They are not really RARE, simply not an item that is imported all the time, so it may take a few months or a year.

Is the sand sharp? '
Kuhlis may filter sand through the gills, and it is possible that sharp sand damages the gills.

Re: Farm Bred Clowns in FL
No way to know how they operate but unless they do some volume I just do not see how they can be doing this for a few years.

Re: Farm Bred Clowns in FL
their entire stock for CL's is less than 200 pieces. I think this is just how their web interface reports it. As for prices: they regularly sell on AB at lower price than the web site, so I'd guess they sell to distributors as well at a lower price. (Of course I do not know the details of their bus...

Re: Farm Bred Clowns in FL
They are regularly offered online and often on Aquabid by Bioaquatics:

(I do not have their clowns -- but I do have their TR Garras and they are fine)

Re: Moving large clown loaches and qt
All died, and we concluded all the fishes must have been carrying some disease which they were immune against, but both groupes were vulnerable for each others disease. the chances of this are very low, and if this happens to be indeed the case the quarantine would have not helped. something entire...

Re: Can you help me ID my loach?
Yes, there is a color variability. Look at the profile here and see that one of the photos shows brownish and the other is silver. But read the entire profile: this species is likely a complex of related species and perhaps one day the color will mean a newly described species.... but for now, it is...

Re: Can you help me ID my loach?
It is an Pangio anguillaris on the left and Pangio oblonga on the right in the top photo.
(you can tell anguillaris from other thin kuhlis by the lateral line)
The body shape is indeed different, p.oblonga have 2x the diameter! So you fish looks just fine for the species.

Re: Tap water have high nitrate
If I understand you correctly you never remove water from the arowana tank, only top it with R/O? Then the mineral contents of the tank remains nearly constant... evaporation increases TDS (more mineral concentration), topping with R/O almost restores the previous hardness. This setup is still not g...

Re: Tap water have high nitrate
Uggh..... I'm afraid you are not approaching this right. Firstly, I'm all pro-R/O, my 200 tanks are running on an R/O system. But: you need to choose a right system, and Marineland --- assume this one is not an optimal choice. 90 GPD is very low, and DI is not needed for your application, the cost o...

Perhaps, consider doing 50% change twice per week. Safer.
