Weather loaches are very tough fish. There have been accounts on this forum about people finding them in their rug, covered in slime and fuzz, still alive. Returned them to the tank and they survived just as though it hadn't happened...

Remember that the behavior of a single fish does not necessarily indicate the behavior or preferences of all. While your one loach seems to enjoy the rapids apparently the other 2 don't care for it as much...

sorry mousey, salt is not good for hillstreams. They also need higher current than your livebearers will enjoy, and cooler temps. And high oxygen content in their water... as for the pH being that high, I don't know if they do well at that level. maybe someone else could address that. And, no, there...
