Loaches in my 100 gallon tank

Hi all, Last night, my loaches were very co-operative and allowed me to take some photos, usually they hide after the first flash photo  I have 5 clowns, a Tiger, an Orange Fin Blue Botia, a Yoyo and a Histrionica. The Yoyo and Histrionica stayed hidden for this session :? The aquarium also ha...

Agreed, it is fun to see where fellow loach lovers are in the world :)

I have made contact with keepers in Australia, Brazil, England and Russia.

It also makes it easy to contact a fellow loach keeper in your area to do a swap or ask where a particular loach can be found in your area

You have two black things sticking out of the PVC which your sponges are going over. I'm wondering what those are, are they part of a sponge filter set? Those look like intake strainers for canister filters like Rena XP's or Fluvals. They are usually pointed down, rather than up as in this case :wi...

thank you, zenins ! tell me, please, if somebody bred a new species in the country, does he/she get bonus points in BAP? Well, no bonus, just being first in the register and a highlight in the CAOAC newsletter to announce the first recorded spawning for a particular species. Some people work at spa...

Well here are some poor photos of my blind Dario loach, please excuse the scratched glass, it is a very old Rift Lake African tank that I bought second hand and it has seen a lot of use and a lot of rocks ;) http://i29.photobucket.com/albums/c258/zenins/Misc_2009_Nov/IMG_3498.jpg http://i29.photobuc...

Hi pollywog, and welcome to the Loaches forum :) I suggest continue with 20% partial water changes every few days. Weather (Dojo) loaches are a cooler water species, so no heater required, room temperature is fine at 21C (70F). If it gets too hot, over 23C (74F) then move the tank to a cooler locati...

Kinda look like Kubotai (Polka Dot, Burmese Border Loach, Angelicus) except they are from Myanmar (Burma) http://www.loaches.com/species-index/botia-kubotai When mine were young, they had a lot more white on them like yours do. However as they got older, more black formed and there was less white on...

Sounds interesting ... do you have a photo you can post ? I have a Dario Loach that someone gave me a couple of years ago because it got eye infections that damaged them and I think it is blind now. It has no problems finding food and surviving :) I will try to take a photo and post on the weekend ....

Looking good Martin :)

I like the wood in there, must make the angels and discus feel very comfortable.

In the latest book from Oliver Lucanus "The Amazon, Below Water" there are many photos featuring leaf litter and lots of wood and tree branches ...
