correct sir, theyve been known in the trade for many years as barilloides to all of us which was a wrong ID.
thanks for bringing it up, for the life of me i couldnt remember the proper name. lol

they first came into the UK in 2002, but seemed to lose favour within a tear and now are imported infrequently, possibly because they stay too small for many community tanks plus at the time they were finding and exporting loads of new species of danios? mick just a note to see this fish at it's bes...

they're very good looking chunky fish as are the rest of the clan. 8) iv'e found the same thing with rtbs's any new fish and they would pounce on them, my fish have tamed the one i have at the moment, he chased everything in the tank for the first day but got a battering the same night now it keeps ...

they should be ok Katy, i found just having weighted wool mops in the tank stopped any aggro from the group i had, which was 11 of them.

yes the fry are striped it will break as the go on. your daughters got keen eyes as they are tiny.

they will Matt if youve ever seen the reticulatus you'd know mate.
the reticulata is tiny compared to vulcanus, in a way it looks like a brittani in miniature.

just a little info Jim, the vulcanus was confused with R reticulatus for as long as i can remember, some years ago BAS got a shipment of the true reticulatus which were a drab looking fish in comparison with vulcanus.
