UK Stockist warning.
I visited Water World (not to be confused with World of Water) near Chester and the place was shocking. The tanks were about 50L and heavily stocked (not usually an issue with a large water system i know, but hear me out). All the Goldfish tanks also had other species in them too, and there were abo...

I always tend to under power when i'm looking at heaters as a lower power unit will take longer to overheat the tank. It's also worth looking at a separate thermal control for heaters with it's own sensor. As for the fish, if they have survived for 24hr's and seem to be largely ok they should be fin...

My Loach tank was on a budget, the tank is second hand, from a relative who passed away, but it's only 3 foot long (would go longer next time). I then used an aquaball 130 as my main filter an aquaclear 50 and quick filter for my river manifold. Gravel was standard small aquarium gravel, about 3 mid...

If the fish start acting up my first port of call would be a full range of water tests, ammonia, Nitrites, nitrates and PH. I don't think you need to remove the fish to clean the tank, remember use a filtered water siphon for your water changes and dig this into the gravel a little. Don't forget you...

If it is a weather loach it's a alien species and shouldn't be in the wild in the first place. But if they keep it and heal it up get a shot of it. If it gets better get another image as i can't see any markings too well and stone loach are banded usually and only about 3-4 inches long. If it has so...

The main thing for these is a long tank, width and height are less of a worry, you need to length so you can get a decent river like flow. The article Jim links too covers most of it, also this one, http://www.loaches.com/articles/water-movement-in-the-loach-aquarium covers everything else. Also as ...

Looks like a Weather loach, Misgurnus fossilis to me, but it could be a Stone loach, just looks too big to my eye. Hmm it should be possible to keep it in a large tank but it would have to be very clean water i'd just try cool water in a large unheated tank indoors and a good mature filter. Somthing...
