Erromyzon digging
How bad do they dig? I have some that have ruined the substrate. I am a little paranoid they will dig near the larger rocks and make rocks fall on them or the other inhabitants. I have the larger rocks on egg crate but the ones on the side are not laying on the egg crate itself as they were placed o...

Re: Is your hillstream tank water clear?
I don't have a UV but mine has two canister filters and it is clear. The only time it gets hazy is when I do a water change. Can't remember if it was hazy in the beginning but it just might be the new tank.

Re: Where do you find your loaches?
If you email the owner of the wet spot ( contact info on the site) he can get way more than just the ones he has in stock. Wet spot is my local LFS and they have gotten me fish I couldn't find anyplace. Also the level of care they provide to there stock is unheard of at most places. i was emailing ...

Re: Where do you find your loaches?
I think the pseudogastromyzon is seasonal. I only see it on importer lists once or twice a year during the spring season. Not sure about the gastromyzon punctulatus but the "borneo" loach always comes in mixed with different gastromyzons, though the majority is ctenocephalus. Best to ask the company...

Re: Noob Hillstream Tank Set-up Questions
A 20 long tank is a good enough tank for hillstream fish. Of course it will limit how many fish can be stocked. I have kept a few hillstream in a 24" tank but they were only in there for about 4 months. My water is also hard with a ph of around 7.8 to 8, but I have been able to keep different specie...

Not sure if it is just me but I cannot see any photos. The photos do not show up on the June 25th post.

Re: Sewellia spotted or albisuera?
Interesting. These are wild caught specimen and the importer had them listed as sewellia breviventralis, which they are not. I hope to get a ID on these two as the importer is also interested in knowing which species they are.

Sewellia spotted or albisuera?
Picked up some sewellia "spotted" but two look to be different. Some "spotted" do have a few squiggly line patterns but not as much as these two. Here are two photos of the two I am not sure about being "spotted" or not (sorry for some of the blotches in the photos as there was stuff floating on top...

Thanks, Jim. Just wanted to make sure they do not breed as I would hate to have hybrids.

Re: Will sewellia species breed together?
Thought I bring up this thread again as I have a question. Will sewellia breviventralis breed with the spotted or lineolata species? I have a chance to care after a small group for a couple of months and the only tank that is good for them to live in is my river tank which has the spotted and lineol...

Love the tank. If you do not mind me asking, why did you take out the plants? Were they too messy for the tank?

Re: Help to sexing Sewellia Lineolata
Pretty sure the first one is a male. Not sure about the others but they look to be males too. The second one looks to have a different body shape to it but it is not clear so I cannot be sure if it is a female. Do you see 'fences on all three? Males have 'fences' on their pectoral fins while the fem...
