Re: What pangio is it?

Shadoj, the figure you refer to shows a specimen of P. semicincta as currently recognised. See paragraphs two and three in the 'notes' section here: http://www.seriouslyfish.com/profile.ph ... ta&id=1491

Re: Banded Pangio ID

Hi Jen - you definitely like to speculate!:D "supposedly not alternans Barito fish" That's not exactly what I wrote. ;-) Interestingly, all my fish are at/past the max-sized specimen caught by Kottelat & Lim Good point, but also in your fish the dark saddles extend below the lateral line (which they...

Re: Banded Pangio ID

Hi Jen, as far as I know no pics of confirmed, live P. alternans exist and believe me I've tried to find some. There are two images of dead specimens in the original description but they're not a lot of use other than to establish that your fish are not that species (IMO). Paper here: http://r...

Re: Banded Pangio ID

Hi Shadoj, the fish in the second link were identified by Dr. Jörg Bohlen as "probably" an undescribed fish from the Barito River in Borneo and "definitely" not P. alternans . IMO they're the same one listed here on LOL as alternans , and the same as yours too. :-) More pics would be cool, this seem...

Re: Id Please!!

If the dark bars on the body are wider than the lighter interspaces it should be N. masyai, if thinner N. pallidus. Based on that photo N. masyai then?

Re: Ideal small loach for 60 litre planted?

I doubt that Yunnanilus sp. 'rosy' or Y. brevis would be a problem in that tank.

Re: Adorable Native Darter

Very nice! We almost never see this stuff in Europe. Hoping to get some Lucania goodei soon but would love to keep some Etheostoma or Percina at some point.

Re: Sicyopterus sp,"mountain rock goby"

Don't think there are any Sicyopterus spp. on the American continent but a handful of Sicydium spp. are native to Central America and Mexico e.g. S. gymnogaster, S. multipunctatus. There are none in the United States as far as I know, but Mexico counts as North America right?

Re: Stiphodon genus of the Goby

Hi Odyssey,

Thanks for the links. :-) Yes I have seen the paper - will add the info into the Stiphodon species profiles soon.

That new one is amazing - is it in the process of being described?

Re: Stiphodon genus of the Goby

Hi orchid it's not S. rutilaureus but the one called S. sp. 'ST02' in the link below, which might be one or several species. :)

Re: loach ID help!

The horizontal 'peaks' on the body bars suggest B. kubotai I think.
