Kuhli Loach Egg Development
I've seen pictures of deceased kuhli loaches and their eggs. Most of them have been green, but I also recall seeing a picture of a smaller kuhli loach with what looked to be smaller yellow eggs. Do kuhli eggs perhaps start out as yellow when they first begin to form and then turn green as they matur...

Re: Kuhli Loaches hiding
I keep my battery charged, SD cards empty, and the camera right by the tank by default! I am always taking pictures and video of my kuhlis. They are just so fun! You'll find that they love to drape themselves in the plants. Also, be ready with the camera and some popcorn when you do your first water...

Re: Best Heating Solutions
The Marineland Visi-therms don't have very good reviews on Amazon.
Aqueon Pros have great reviews and that's what I use. It's all black plastic, so it's easy to hide and I don't have to worry about it like I do with glass heaters. The glass heaters make me really anxious.

I feed Soilent Green for my otocinclus and their fry, but I'm getting a pack of the Shrimp Souffle (scavenger blend) for my kuhlis to try.

+1 to the prefilter sponges!
I totally forgot to mention mine. I have it to protect my kuhli loaches from wriggling into the intake.

Re: Is there such a thing as too much dancing?
Just regular pool filter sand! It can be bright-ish at first, but mellows out nicely as diatoms and whatnot settle in. I've heard that different pool filter sand companies have different colors, but I can't speak from experience. Mine came in the color of crushed coral. Kinda chalky white with a hin...

Re: Best Filtration Systems?
I'm an AquaClear girl! They're strong, sturdy workhorses that really shine in the media department. What's great is that you don't have to stack that sponge/carbon/bio media. In fact, I don't use my carbon at all. I keep it the drawer for an occasion that I'd never need to remove a chemical medicati...

Re: Is there such a thing as too much dancing?
Thank you! It's my first "aquascape". I really love taking care of the plants, and the kuhlis love hanging out in them! I'm glad to hear a vote for happy loaches. It just seems like... gosh, stop and take a breather! Dance, dance, dancing all day! I love to watch them, though. Honestly... my favorit...

Is there such a thing as too much dancing?
I'm new to loaches, but I have fallen hopelessly in love with kuhlis. I have 7 sub-adults in my 29 gallon, heavily planted tank. In addition to the plant cover, they have one large-ish rock cave and three pots on their sides to hide in, though they very rarely use them. At any given time of day, at ...

Re: My dojo has a wound
I'm glad I could help a bit. I'm sorry that I don't have any other advice for you, but I'm confident that keeping the water clean and treating with Melafix should get him healed up soon.
Please let me know how he's doing!
