very excited!!! the tank fit!

okay, so I am surprised at how totally excited I am about this. The stand fit PERFECTLY in the tile tray and will look BEAUTiFUL (already does, IMO). I do not care that I am having to redo the floor....this will look AWESOME! The fish will just thrive in this new environment!(let your imagination go...

could anyone post some pictures of a "leaf littered" tank. I really like the idea, but am not sure how one would take care of such a tank. MY yard is FULL of big oak trees, so I have a steady supply. Right now my 75 gallon is all fakey plants and plastic wood, etc. I was trying to be more "sterile" ...

Thanks!
very excited about it and will not believe that the new tank is in, until I SEE it in my living room.
I am not very good at photos, but hope to take some more as I go along with this process and maybe they will be more exciting than these!

125 in progress

Well, these are not EXCITING photos, except to me! The first image is the "before the disaster" photo (recall tank disaster 2010 #1!) the next ones are my solution to the "Water all over the floor and ruining the carpet" problem They are delivering the the new stand tomorrow (which is upposed to fit...

125 gallon set up yet?

I'll bet you'll be sorry you asked that question! So I am a little (LOL!) OCD and have been losing sleep over the disaster that happened (Even if it was NOTHING like Katy and Cloudhands' disaster, where fish actually lost their lives) Anyway, I have been doing a "little construction" in the living r...

ichy ichy

This has been a GREAT discussion! I am fairly satisfied with my current regimen, but would appreciate something MORE efficient/effective. I am anticipating the arrival of this quinine (it was NOT cheap!). I do not KNOW how it will work, but right now, clearing even a 10 gallon Q tank of ich is prett...

Q tank

I agree with the presumption of "ich until proven otherwise" given the sheer volume of ich I have dealt with in what looked like healthy fish. I KNOW my Qtank was sterile to begin with, so I think it is just the nature of the beast (maybe?). I have been doing a treatment with quick-cure x 1 at purch...

quinine for ich

I have been having more persistent ich problems and recently read an article in the Feb 2010 issue of aquarium Fish International about using quinine for ich. Has anyone done this? I went ahead and ordered some, but would appreciate any opinions. The current crew in the Qtank are three lovely little...

I swear that looks like some sort of flesh eating bacteria on the tail of the deceased loach laying on the bottom. Plus, I can;t really see any ich spots on the dying fish... (not that ich is that hard to ID, but maybe the weakened fish succumbed to secondary infection) Would definitely treat for ba...

Just goes to show that sometimes the most common fish can be a true joy! I love that giant danio! I have to say that one of the most pleasant surpirses about my fishkeeping are danios....just the common little cheap zebras are really a lovely little fish, and such a work horse in the tank...running ...

yeah, I have felt EXACTLY that way. I went into a fish store when out of town...horribly bare tanks with NO hiding places. I saw a 5 inch clown loach laying there is a completely bare tank. SO SAD.... he was only $29 and I regret not getting him to this day ( not that I had an adequate tank at that ...

Yeah!!!!! Katy, I am so happy for you. I really agree with the 120 (you knew that already) but I KNOW it was a scary leap. Let's face it, with your ( and cloudhands) loach addiction, it was just a matter of time AND you got a great deal. it WILL be worth the sacrifices! I am SO excited to see the ne...
