Nonn, as if the other responses weren't enough, I wanted to say thanks for the cool shots!! I find it extremely interesting to see where these fish come from. The stream shots, especially the under water ones are very cool. I also find the surrounding shots just as interesting if not more so. The ri...

My first response would have been exactly what Jim Powers said. That response comes from our planted tank keeping background. But also I want to add, your question asks for a solution to the symptom, as apposed to a solution to your problem. If you have an unplanted tank, then just turn the lights o...

Mamaschild, that's not cheating, you kow her age and that's cool having a FISH that long. I mean people think of Dogs and Cats living 10-20 years, but rarely think of a fish that way.

Loachaholic, a 20 year old Kuhli!! Very cool. I wouldn't have thoug it possiable.

How old is your oldest Loach?

I know the board is about 9 years old, we hashed that out in a recent thread. So with that in mind, I assume that most of the participants started with loaches around then. But I do know there are a few or you out there who were into loaches well before that. JL and I for example were talking loache...

I have no idea how long they live. That tank has had "the cronies," a Yoyo and clown in there since at least '95. Hell there was an otto cat in there for at least 7 years! That was the fish that amazed me. He disappeared in the plants for 2 or 3 and I was very surprised when I saw him. I have a hist...

One of mine is about 5 years old in a 90 gal and is about 14cm total length. Another is over 10 years old and in a 35hex and is about the same.

The unheated tank would probably lead to ich. Especially with the daily flucuations. Try feeding a few flakes too, then there are always some scraps that will make it past.

Wow, that is a shame. You could have ordered them from That Fish Place. http://www.thatpetplace.com/LiveFish/LiveFish.aspx Next time tell your LFS to buy from them. Even marking them up 100% it's still a $6 fish:) I remember complaining to LFS years ago that their prices were to high compaired to TF...

Here is another attempt. I like the outcome of this shot a lot better. I just wish the fish were more visiable.

Newshound, that is interesting. I have never had issue with them and crypts. In fact I have always reccomended them since they seem loach proof in my tanks:) As they say YMMV. Thanks for the compliment.

Thanks Spanky, Too.

Nice.

Man with all those stem plants, CO2, and 3.5wpg, you must be in there with the weedwacker weekly?!?!? We need to invent you a hydro driven weedwacker:)

In my 90 I have 5 striate, 2 yoyo, 5 clowns, 3 sids, 1 histrionica, and 3 kubotais. Along with the loaches, there are 2 farlowella, 2 bristlenose and 1 clown pleco, a cory cat, a rainbow, and a large angel. Mor rainbows to come.

My tank is also heavily filtered by the plants too.

Rob, yes, CO2 injected from inception('96). Bottle in the basement feeds 4 tanks. Newshound, if the conditions are right, and the plants healthy to start, they will melt away but come back. Crypts grow very specialized leaved setup to work with the water conditions. So typically there is a drastic c...

Nice shot of a great tank Erik.

You have a tank full of loaches and like my recent shot of the 90, nearly all are hiding on picture day:)

You will be fine with Yoyo and Dario in the same tank. The only time I would be nervous was if you were to introduce some small juvenile botia into an established shoal of dario. I would also add a few clowns to get some color in there. Look at my post on my 90 gal I just added, I have loads of loac...
