That Fish place has sids

For those within driving distance to That Fish Place/That Pet Place, they had a couple sids for $8.99. They also had Yoyos (sml $2.99), skunks, and red fins. they had a tank of Pulchra that looked nice. There were a few Hillstreams, one of which I almost bought. Labeled the dreaded "Devil Sucker" we...

Hello Kristina, Thanks! For gravel, I bought Estes Aquarium Gravel, “Bits O Walnut.” It is a very fine gravel, or a course sand depending on you perspective. Back in the mid 90’s when I set up this tank, the general net wisdom for planted aquariums was use “sand” roughly 2-3mm in size. This stuff fi...

Vallisneria If I had to guess, its probably americana (gigantea). To give you some scale, that tank is 4 feet left to right and 2 feet top to bottom. The leaves on the Vals are up to 1 inch wide. It is a Pain in the ass actually, and if I had it to do again, I would make sure to find a smaller varie...

I second that. You have have a few hang in there, but usually they will figure it out and eat them all. I had Mylasia trumpet snails, and tried to populate my tanks, but it never worked.

Sorry,

My 90 gal

I'm still trying to get good full tank photos of the 90. This tank has 6 clowns, 5 striata, 3 sids, 3 angelicus, 2 rostrata, 2 yoyo, 1histrionica, along with other non-loaches.

The Crypts will melt, they always do, basiclly a transplant shock. But they should bounce back. If they are healthy when you get them, their roots will have pleanty to get them going. Another benifit of Anubias is flowers. Mine did yesterday. http://www.pbase.com/jeffdinpa/image/55366807/original.jp...

Sondra, I wouldn't go to the extreme of no plants. Just pick some that grow well in your conditions and either the loaches leave alone or grow faster then they can eat. What has been said already is good advice, and here are a few more I have found work. Vals, they seem to hate them. Crpyts too must...

Looks like I was off by a couple years. Seems that the board was created in 98. Looking through the archives, I see I became a regular around mid year. Not as far back as I thought. Looks like JAWS is still out there, but Sean has grown it into a Huge FishGeeks website. Was it always FishGeeks? Yes ...

But there was very little activity back then. I have since had a hard drive crash (2001)and lost everything. There w...

To this day, 15years after getting my first loach, they can still make my heart skip a beat. Especially when I see my 10 year old doing that!

I will think you never truely get used to it.
