I would think Ted Judy might have some suggestions. I think this place is in Columbus, Ohio and caries that sort of thing.

Re: E.kalotaenia fry
The erromyzon that I had several years ago, used to dig up the tank from time to time, but I never did get fry. I'm not sure if they were attempting to spawn or just looking for food. I kind of think it was the latter.

Re: Sewellia Marmorata
That is too bad. I used to see that with hillstreams coming in to various local fish stores. The shipment would come in dead or die soon after. Fortunately, around here anyway, that happens much less often. I agree with mikev, Sew03 is a nice fish. I had a pair for awhile but unfortunately one died ...

Re: Vanmanenia crassicauda (Clouded Leopard Loaches)
I agree with mikev. It seems that you have done things right, but unfortunately the fish did not survive. I can't tell you how many times this has happened to me over the 15 years I have been keeping hillstreams. I lost my first gastromyzons and my first sewellia in the same manner. In cases like th...

Re: Help building a 20l river manifold
The sponge I'm using is one of those that fits on the intake of a powerhead. Not sure of the brand, but it might be Marineland. Its black and about 3" in diameter.

Re: Help building a 20l river manifold
Mcgold76: You have it right as far as using a UG filter as a manifold. Water is pulled through the sponge filter on the uplift tube and THROUGH THE GRAVEL BED and shoots out the powerhead. I really think the same thing could be accomplished with the UG filter by eliminating the sponge filter altoget...

Re: Help building a 20l river manifold
I think 350gph would be too much for a tank that size.
