They are fantastic, and I've never heard such loud clicking - it sounds as if the glass is cracking!

Heads Up *new pics added 21-08-10*
Hi all, Just a quick heads up to let you know Vaillantella maassi (Forktail Loach) are again currently appearing in the trade in quantity: http://i921.photobucket.com/albums/ad52/CanaryLoach/Fish/DSCN5523A.jpg These fish come from an international shipper, so they could turn up anywhere! If they are...

Great find, Jim. :D About two months ago, one of my Singapore suppliers actually listed Gastromyzon viriosus as a species in their own right (alongside the usual catch-all 'Borneo Suckers') on their 'weekly specials' stocklist. They stayed on that list for a few weeks, then were gone. So from that I...

Hi David, Yes, I did get a few final photographs of Marge, some of her against a ruler and some of her in my hands. At the moment I can't even bear to look at them, let alone upload them, so I apologise for not being able to add them here. She was 12" from the end of her nose to the tip of her tail....

Thank you to everyone for the kind words, I really, really appreciate it. If anyone has a Facebook account, I have set up a special page on FB in Marge's memory. It is called "Marge the Clown Loach" if anyone would like to search and join. I have uploaded a few images of her, and will add some more ...

Thank you so much to everyone who has posted here - your replies have been so comforting to read, and I confess I feel quite overwhelmed with the responses from so many friends old and new. The tank does seem very empty without Marge, not just because of her size, but because of her incredible perso...

R.I.P. Marge
It is with great sadness that I have to announce that my beloved Marge passed away today. She was her usual self yesterday, but today we found her dead, with no external symptoms. Maybe it was just her time. She will be greatly missed - I am absolutely heartbroken. I thought I would shar...

Hi Clare-asaurus, Welcome to Loaches Online. :D I would include some finely chopped prawns or krill, as brineshrimp is not particularly nutritious in it's adult state. Also try white mosquito larvae and daphnia. Here's a link to Martin's home-made frozen fish food: http://www.loaches.com/articles/ho...

Hi Tanja, Breeding the UD catfish in the home aquarium is reported to be difficult, but not impossible. Have a look at the breeding section in this Planet Catfish link, it details a successful spawning and maturing of fry in the same container of water as some botiids: http://www.planetcatfish.com/c...
