Midman- Can you please show us a picture? My Clowns have had several outbreaks of these black spots over the past few years and they are having an outbreak right now. Many months ago I had had a few clown loach deaths, but I'm not sure if the spots are related. I'm still trying to figure out the cau...

You'll need a bigger tank to house Bala's. They are potential tank busters.

The clowns will grow rather slowly, so a 75g tank will be good until you have the 130g set-up. The clowns will eventually outgrow the 130g tank also. That could take 6-10 years for that to happen though.

I also add water from my python straight to the tank. If you treated the tank for chlorine, then chlorine couldn't have killed your fish. I suspect that your water company added chloramines to your water. Make sure your dechlor chemical is for chloramines also. What kind of dechlor chemical do you u...

This is my last update-

I've decided to euthenize this emaciated clown loach ASAP. I didn't have the heart to do it before, but I now think it is what's best for the loach and for myself.

It's been a month and the emaciated clown is still hanging on. He sleeps under a rock all the time. Today I took a look at him and he looks skinnier. I don't think he's eaten even a bite of food since. I had Maracyn I & II in the tank for 3 weeks and I've had Prazopri in the tank for the past week. ...

I used my mouth and some tubing to suck the air out of the bridges.

Here's a video of how I did it.

I put one of the clowns down a few days ago. He was curled up, laying on his side, and breathing heavily. I put him in the gallon of clove water that I had and in 1 hour the bath put him to sleep. It was a peaceful death, his breathing slowed down ever so slowly until he stopped breathing. At least ...

update- I don't think these 2 sick clowns have been eating. One of the emaciated clowns is near death. I was going to put them both down Saturday, but decided not too. I still feed the fish. I also put a few snails in there to eat any uneaten food. I've been doing large water changes about every oth...

If these illnesses are related, I suspect the worst. I think this could very well be Fish Tuberculosis. I'll think more about treating the water in all my tanks with a wide spectrum med. Other factors maybe- About a 6 weeks ago, I euthenized 2 Serpae Tetra because they couldn't swim correctly and ha...

Update- My computer has been down for the last few days because of some electrical problems. Anyways, since my last post, I found 5 Boesemani Rainbowfish with uclers. I Quarantined them in a 10g tank and treated the water with antiboitics and Prazipro. I don't know if this new problem is relat...

I got a bottle of Ultra Care PX from Petsmart earlier. Just as I was getting ready to clear out and search another tank my left middle finger swelled up and became numb. I have no idea what caused this. This has happened before because of allergic reactions to bloodworms or Coppersafe. I haven’t han...

This morning, well about 15 minutes ago, I found another emaciated clown. I removed all the slate caves from the river tank and about 15 clowns angerly flocked around the tank then went up through the water-bridge to the other tank. This poor guy was left all alone. He was sitting duck for my fish n...

Thanks for this report.

This sounds like a great alternative and a safe one too.
