Mine have become so large that they tend to push their way across the sand on their stomachs. Not only that, when they rest on the bottom they now tilt to one side or the other. They no longer fit comfortably in their hidey holes and have settled for spots that are protected outside of the holes.

Just got another 12 of these little guys. None have the weird markings. They are very small and apparently living in a bare tank doesn't do much for them as they all came in together in the same shipment. Mine have doubled in body depth.

This is rather curious. This little guy is much more aggressive than the others and quite territorial so far. He/she also swims differently which is a puzzle. The others swim all over rapidly without hesitation while this particular one swims more like a polka dot loach - in spurts. The others are j...

It's about the same size but seems more streamlined in build and not as deep in the body. It's also a greyish color compared to the lighter colored females. It may well be another variation of the female but it just acts completely different. It doesn't swim like the others and seems to swim more li...

Okay, I'll give those a try tonight. I normally stick the algae wafers in for the BN so they might already be at those. Something is making those little tummies rounder.

Anything that hits the water and they can get in their mouth which is tiny. I feed daphnia, BS, and crushed up flakes - various types. I also use tablet food for the clowns and BN. I've seen them go after the betta food but it's too big for them but they can nibble on the tablets. I think they get a...

Rosy Update

I don't notice them getting any longer but they are beginning to fill out nicely with nice round little tummies. They are constantly moving around and seem to enjoy pecking at the plant leaves. No damage is evident but they do spend most of their time around the plants. I did notice the first fight ...

It's the first time this has happened with mine. You'll see one chasing the other every now and then but nothing like this. I do believe there is a color difference but as far as M/F, I can't tell anything yet. They are constantly out and about in the tank but you can't get up close to them without ...

Kabotai Fight

Just happened to look into the tank just now and caught two of the larger kabotai in a knock down drag out fight. Both fish had lost all color and were just grey. They circled each other - head to tail - as fast as they could go. At the same time they were drifting all around the tank but mainly sta...

Everyone seems to have settled down now without any problems. I decided to use this tank because of the heavy plantings in the tank. I had another tank for breeding plecos but it was too open. No one is bothering them now. The others might have been curious. http://i18.photobucket.com/albums/b136/na...

I expect them to grow fast once I get some food into them. They are already checking out the plants and browsing thru them. The bettas have given up chasing them and everything seems to be settling down.

They are currently in the Q with the clown loaches which are ignoring them completely. The female bettas, however, are chasing them but not enough to really worry. The tank is full of greens so they have plenty of places to hide in. Right now they are doing the loachy dance in the corner of the tank...

Rosy Loaches

They just arrived a few minutes ago. Very tiny and very scared. I have them aclimating in the Q tank right now. They look good and as I mentioned very small. I'm headed to the local Petco now to see if I can pick up another smaller fluval internal filter to create more movement in that particular ta...
