LMAO, it seems out of all my botias the YoYo does this the most frequently and most agressively until the other fish, usually larger Clown or Modesta gets annoyed turns around and really connent one if you know what I mean. I call it the dance. The Yoyo usually uses a lot of energy to hang in and ma...

I wonder if they will eventually pick at the sharks tail. They can be quite mischievous.

Hi Linden, I been wanting to post on this for a while but I have not done so earlier because of the time I might use on this post. Modestas are the most fascinating to me and the most powerful botia, I think. I have so many stories and videos and pics. My first Modesta was purchaced about 10 years a...

Another thing too is that although we can generalize, each fish of the same species have different personalities it seems. Thus, we ma have different experiences with the same type of fish.

The yoyos are bigger now and should be ok. But I think eventually there will be squabbles during feeding time and for pecking order. I think this normal behavior in a fish tank for these fish IMO. My experience with the Darios was that they do not back down or run and hide when challenged and unfort...

My theory is that maybe they become much more confident (and more fiesty) in larger numbers. Emma I absolutely agree with this and there are so many variables on the behavior of loaches. The Dario or Queen botia do loose some of its feistyness when with some larger species like the tiger, beauforti...

Oh, to answer your questions. 1. not a mistake IMHO and I doubt polka dot. can kill your clowns. At this point of your clowns life, food or lack of food is your only worry in an established tank. I highly recommend live/frozen food to get them started, then a weaning program to get them into regular...

I think they would be fine. The clowns will soon establish dominance and keep the peace. You might want to feed at night also. Most loaches have different behaviors at night. If they are in the cave during the day, most likely they feel secure enough to come out of the cave at night. They will find ...

Hi Tammy, I will have to repair it some day, but I might be giving away my loaches and tank soon because I will be moving pretty far. As far as repairing the tank now, I am not too worried because most of the strength of the bond of the silicone is between the glass and they cannot get there (I hope...

Loaches, strong jaws and razor sharp teeth eats tank Silicon

About a year ago, I dropped one of the suction cups from a water heater into my tank. I did not want to remove it at that moment and I figured I would remove it during a waterchange or something. A few water changes after, I found it. The rubber was used as a chewing toy for some of the Small botias...

Kool photogenic Kubotia posing

Most of my loaches are shy but this Kubotia have a special interest in the camera. Sometimes I feel he enjoys being photographed. I wanted to share some pics that I have taken of him.
