the young have (seemingly) limitless energy which fades as one ages.

this is also a good reason not to get all of your tanks long term loaches at the same time.

even a mature loach from a normal tank with buddies will be shy for the first bit.

i find mature loaches don't wander out much...without food that is ;)

what filteration are you using?
from the images it doesn't look to overstocked.
I looked for some sign of filter equipment in the pix but couldn't see any.
Might be underfiltered?
cause those are some 1/2 decent W.C.s

my mature rts pushes around my smaller loaches (striata, histronica, etc...) @ feeding time, but it doesn't seem to phase them at all. Loaches tend to mix it up anyway :twisted:
Kubs are fairly peaceful loaches but they might bother the cories, and dwarf guaramies

if you have a sponge over the intake of the old filter put it on the intake of the new one. i'd get the new filter going in the old tank pronto! it takes way longer to go from 1 bacteria to 1 billion than from 1 million (just guesses but you get the picture) in the new filter. it is really hard to say why some loaches don't grow...
