Juwel tanks have good large media baskets which do help alot but their power heads are to be desired, especially for loach tank set-ups. A extra internal canister filter wouldn't do any harm, in-fact your loaches will love the extra turn over and aeration.

It's very common for juvenile B. Almorhae and C. Macracanthus to be active. I remember them days! :P Pangio oblonga's can be camera hog's also!

I don't feed my loaches any live foods. Frozen Bloodworm's/Brine shrimp/Daphnia...etc are sufficient for mine. I also feed mine with a wide range of commercial prepared foods and the odd cucumber. Once a day with a mixture each time, although they do get frozen foods 3 times a week.

Thanks. :D Yeah Martin they do have long nasal nares. Very hard to capture on camera at the moment but with the human eye and your face up close to the tank, you can see them. I wasn't aware that they could be variable regarding the black markings. Sorry to hear of your loss Martin. Do you think the...

Thanks. I purchased 12 of them from Peter Barretts. And was also chatting to one of the staff members who orders them in from their Thailand suppliers and he basically says write a list down or attach a picture and our man over there will find them. Apparently there's a "huge" amount of loaches avai...

New Pangio Findings!

I've just found these "tiny" Pangio's today. They are all under 1 inch TL. Nice variation if they are all P. cuneovirgata's. Don't you agree? :D http://sites.centralpets.com/fish/glrob/1pguvvf.jpg http://sites.centralpets.com/fish/glrob/1pguvf.jpg http://sites.centralpets.com/fish/glrob/1pguv.jpg

Cant you or have you not got a 30gal set-up somewhere? You could use that as a feeder tank and once there size is acceptable you just simply transfer them over.
