I can very much recommend the Eheim pro. 3 series of filters. I have recently bought a 2073 from that serie, and am very content with it. It delivers a very decent 1050 ltr/hr. They are probably hillstreams yes. They are however probably not suited for your tank. They require low temp. of around 21/23C They need very high oxygen amounts and prefer loads of current.
