i just came back from wallMart and saw 2 b.striata (zebra) ... I was tempted to buy them but the conditions they live in are horrible and there's nobody around to get them for me.

they should have a 'catch it yourself' policy. it'll be so much faster.

if you don't have a car to go up to greenwich, CT, go to penn station and you can take a train up there.
It might be faster considering the traffic in nyc/manhattan especially.

yeah, i was wondering what makes kubotai & histrionica different species to begin with. Yes their stripes are a bit different but that's like saying humans are different species just because of hair color.

the only solution is genetic testing.

well, i see 5-10 khulis in a 10 gallon tank at the lfs all the time but i doubt they would recommend putting that much in a small tank. I'd say 4 is best suited for your bigger tank. I'm not an expert with loaches but i think they all require a lot of space to swim and dig around.

That's not something you see in young B. histrionica. How long have you had these little guys? i've had them 5-6 months now.. I'll try to get the other guy who i think is a b. histrionica but he's camera shy. His stripes are solid and he's yellowish. and I think hygro polysperma is illegal now.. Yo...

Great tank. What is the plant on the left side of your tank? it's a mass of sunset hygro polysperma... i'm using it to keep check on algae. I'll trim them when I feel comfortable i have the algae in control. They grow 1 cm a day. so, they're fast growers. thanks martin, i'll definitely keep an eye ...

Could well be barking up the wrong tree , but at first glance i thought i was looking at young B.kabotai ! its just that the bands seem to be linking on the lateral part of the body , i dont have these but my young Histrionica seem to have straighter banding , as i said though this is just a whim. ...

depending on the shot, flash and or a tripod helps. And a little sharpening in photoshop ;) i consider these shots not that great... but i'm always critical of my stuff.

art & design is my bizniz.
