Re: strange behavior for clown loaches
She is beautiful chefkeith. Clown loaches are awesome! Can't wait until you have eggs all over your tank. What size, how long, are your clown loaches? Mine are just 7 in, 5 1/2 in, and 4 in.

Re: When a bigger tank is not possible
Um. 55 gallons really is not enough to house clown loaches for long periods of time. For a QT tank it's OK, but 75 gallons is really the minimum tank size you want, and even then you have to upgrade when they get larger. Here is a good beginner guide for keeping clowns: http://www.loaches.com/speci...

Re: When a bigger tank is not possible
I have a 55 gallon fishtank that is currently holding my three clown loaches. They are 7, 5 1/2, and 4 inches. I think when they get at least half the tank length then I would go for a bigger tank. You have time to save up money to get a bigger tank. Question: what is a 200 litre tank, what gallon?...

That is great! I hope that they stay healthy and you won't have to treat them for any illnesses.

Re: strange behavior for clown loaches
I hope that you have baby clown loaches. But if not that is okay, maybe they weren't ready yet. It is fun to watch them and their antics though.

Re: CL illness or water poisoning?
Looks like something really hates me. I intended to follow your advice, when the little guy decided to sit right in front of me. He's more active today and swims upright most of time. Unfortunately, now he has ich. I'll try raising temperature combined with frequent water changes. Hopefully it will...

Re: i have found a snail in my tank can someone help me ?
Yes clown loaches LOVE snails. It is their specialty. Have a snail infestation, get some clown loaches and your snail problem will be cleared up.
I would suggest that you put that snail in a different fishtank to keep it alive. Otherwise you won't have it anymore if it is in with the clown loach.

Re: Hello!
Hi, this is the place to be for Clown Loaches and their keepers. I started with Clown Loaches for the same reasons you did. I started with my 90 gallon tank, though I was recommended 20 gallon by my LFS. Mine also grew very slowly and are growing still. That is cool! Mine are still growing and I ca...

Re: Hello!
Thank you ClownLoachSharky! I hope that I do get a bigger tank than my 55 gallon and I get more clown loaches. Clown loaches are great to watch while they grow because they grow slowly. You can enjoy them when they are little and when they get big, they are even more amazing. I cannot wait until min...

Re: strange behavior for clown loaches
Just to be sure that they were squabbling and not mating, you might want to watch for eggs. My clown loaches didn't squabble but one did gray out and I read online that this means that the female is the alpha in a school of clown loaches. So when a clown loach grays out, then it is a female. That is...
