Re: Heads Up

I will be sure to be on the look out for some Vaillantella maassi . It is currently a new season for many of the botiids, with small (less than 3 or 4 cm) fish appearing. These include B. rostrata , B. almorhae , B. histrionica , and B. kubotai amongst others. Would you by any chance have any pics o...

I will leave it a couple of weeks and I will probably try a biggish cold water change again and see if I can see any signs of anything happening. It does seem that was some sort fo trigger because I did the same thing to my sid tank at the same time and I have noticed a couple of very small sid's da...

how is the hose-water different? What do you usually use? I'd think salt would do the opposite, as it wouldn't resemble rain water.... interesting..... Is this species from an arid area that might see a salinity pulse with overland/terrestrial runoff? Tell me if i'm being annoying... A Rather than ...

Thanks guy's, needless to say I am quite happy with this find :D The only histies in that tank are my standard histies and I am 100% sure that is what this is. Did you do anything different/interesting maybe 2 months ago? Is there any thought on the trigger? To have ample space, habitat etc... and t...

Another loach baby

I had thought I had seen a small fish in my 75 gallon loach tank the other night but after sitting in front of the tank for over an hour I figured I must have been mistaken, anyway earlier today I was sat and again saw something small so approached the tank to take a closer look. To my surprise behi...

Yeah they are small pots that come with plants, a friend of mine gave me loads and there is a pile of them behind the cobbles.

One thing I can honestly say is that you cant have to many sid's :D

Thanks Martin

I know of a few clubs that do run BAP's as do most of the species specific associations/groups, I think it is a good idea and promotes correct husbandry ect :D

Yeah I would say most likely Schistura kohchangensis, there is a lot of pattern variation among individuals of S.kohchangensis which can make id's tricky.

They are a nice placid Schistura, how many have you got?

Im glad they did well, I have just had to start a new tank for my shrimps, I was over run with them myself until I got the serpenticobitis, I think they like shrimp as the tank is now empty of them

This looks like a juvenile long arm shrimp to me.

A good food for these are ramshorn and trumpet snails which they readily eat.
