Re: Squabbling Zebra

Hi folks Many thanks for the replies. The tank length is 4ft; very well planted (plants used to enable hiding spots if needed) along with lots of bogwood with which I've tried to create caves etc for them. Just been watching them now; the colour has come back and they appear to have settled down. I ...

Squabbling Zebra

Another question for you. Came home from work today to see two of my Golden Zebra really greyed out and they appear to be squabbling. Tight close together and chasing each other in quite tight circles. Didn't appreciate actually how greyed out they can become !!! Do I need to be monitoring this or l...

A question ?

Dear All

Was reading something about Khuli loaches on another forum recently and it was suggested that these could be kept in a hex shaped tank. As I understand it, these guys need a minimum tank floor space of 60cm ......?

Would be interested in your views on this...?!!!

Many thanks

Re: Weather Loach compatability ?

Hi Diana Think I can safely vouch that Golden Zebra certainly click; wondered what the blazes it was at first as I didn't expect it to be honest !! Thought it was something being tapped on the glass and then the penny dropped, after watching the Loaches closely for a while..... I can see now why peo...

Re: Weather Loach compatability ?

Hi Redshark As much as I would like to post some pics, it would appear that you simply cannot do it just from an attachment held on the PC so I shall have to play around and see what I come up with. Incidently, one of the smaller loaches (I have a small shoal of 5 at the moment and hoping to increas...

For Dojomama

Hi Dojomama

Just wanted to say how much I've enjoyed reading your Dojo "chats" on the forum !! :D

Obviously, a lot of tank observation has gone in here and it's refreshing and funny to read.

Keep 'em coming !!

Re: Does anyone make a good algae wafer?

I was going to suggest New Era (not sure if it's available in the US ?) but after looking on their website, the ingredient list doesn't give much away !!

Re: Weather Loach compatability ?

Thanks Diana Goes to show that you need to do your extended reading before asking questions !!! The temperate tank will stay as it is. One other thing I would ask; do all species of Loaches click when feeding or when excited ? I had read that Clowns do but not on the others. I've recently acq...

Re: Weather Loach compatability ?

My apologies Dojosmama :) 63L amounts to either 13 UK gallons or 16 US gallons. I'm seriously doubting having the Dojos due to the size of the tank and the size they can seemingly get to according to my current reading. According to the info on here, the minimum tank length should be 36" when juveni...

Weather Loach compatability ?

Hi folks New member after recently acquiring some Golden Zebra Loaches and am quite smitten with Loaches as a rule. I have a 63l litre tank which currently houses 4 Sewellia Lineolata and 6 Rhinogbius Wui. I was looking to add 3 Dojo's to this set up being as they enjoy a lower temperature but am co...

Re: Welcome to the New Loach Forum

Just thought I would introduce myself as a new Loach keeper. Bought 5 Golden Zebras yesterday to hopefully deal with a snail population within one of my tanks and am quite smitten with these little chaps already. I also have 4 Sewellia Lineolata in a temperate tank who reside with 6 Rhinogobius. Wha...
