I've been reading alot of posts about peopl's clowns having skinny disease and ich and every time i read each post i check my loaches frantically...at first i saw nothing but the more i looked the more syptoms i keep seeing breathing heavy,white spots(i just change the substrate to sand like 4hrs ag...

you are fine now....yes get 2 more and they should stay that size for a few months depending how well you feed them...also make sure you keep their water clean other than that the size of the take is really not an issue until they reach over 3 1/2"

i see...i think i have 2 that are under 2" and the rest of the 6 are over 2" so maybe ill feed sinking pellets and wafers before lights out and such and one actual meal before i leave for work/school

none of the targets have it here :( so i bought two carib sea sands moon light very nice i did half of the tank today...ill do the rest maybe friday or sunday...i want the bacteria to settle and replenish before anything else :) o and i paid $65:(

then why have have i seen posts of people feeding their clown loaches 4-5 meals a day!?! i feed small amounts but their bellies are always big...they are kinda juvinile loaches though

how much sand needed?

hi i am considering putting sand in my tank i already have big pebbled substrate i just want the bottom to be covered by maybe 1 inch of sand how many 20lb bags would i need for a 55 gall? i figured a 10 gallon tank is 20in long x10 in wide and it takes one 20lb bag to cover 2 in deep and my 55 gall...

well i tried brine this morning but no luck they didnt go for it till it sank into the rocks looks like i need to get sand really fast .....the only thing i get them to eat is algae wafers and shrimp pellets is that good enough for now?

thanks emma i went to check the shrimp pellet but it was all gone! im not sure if it was my loaches or my my rainbow fish but then again they arent ones to scavange for food so i dont really know
