Re: look what i found!

Yes, my small one do it as well. Often upside down, seeming to knibble on the surface, or on the algea just above the water on the glass. But it also seem like exploring the surface. The small ones do it now, the medium ones did it too when small, but not anymore. Nothing to see there, they found ou...

Re: look what i found!

So, after a week of intensive feeding for the new ones, nitrates were at 60-70ppm. Changed half the water, and cleaned a cannister in the afternoon. Skipped dinner too. After daylights went off begging stopped. They know not to expect food in "twilight time". Then all the botia turned attention to e...

Re: playfull behaviour or intended murder?

Hmm... they probably did do it. Then they will do it again... and again. Sorry. might just be natural behaviour they first need to learn. So you must be right. I noticed them reacting to the flapping tails of the gastros, though as soon as they see what the tail is attached to, they move on. I do n...

Re: I bought clown loach Number 7

You may be right Marteen. It's always associated with dislodging something from the gills Again, something for me to studie. :P mine dont. I now know why they all start sifting sand after dinner. They do make a big sandy watercolum though. Over here, all fish love spirulinawafers too. Just n...

Re: look what i found!

Oh, they remember these things for sure  One needs to make them forget the bad stuff.... seriously, i also think they remember. While we where in indonesia for 3 weeks, my father fed them every 2 days. A machine fed a bit every day. So less food for the fishies. The minute we came home, all f...

Re: look what i found!

I was going to say she is still skittish, but right now they are clikking away. My common pleco used to make a storm of fear in the tank when I approached even a little bit....well no wonder. I had moved him to 3 different tanks prior to that while he grew. In about 2 years after I stopped moving h...

Re: I bought clown loach Number 7

Good news is, little clown is active and healthy looking. The panda cory is out and about. And even the single cherry shrimp that had hitchhiked from my other tank and grew up in there is out and unbothered. So are the platies, they all behave normal, TDS is over 800ppm right now, I must measure it...

Re: I bought clown loach Number 7

Studies show that when people want to buy a certain type of car, they notice more that type driving in the streets. Are there more of those cars? No, the car is on the persons mind, so he just notices them. With all our talking about it, i too see (contiously notice) my loaches flashing more than be...

Re: I bought clown loach Number 7

I am learning here. I hope all fish will be ok. but ich is still unconfirmed now, right? Fish scratch themselves al the time, couldn't it be just that? (Hope it is) Good to read that you are taking all the pre-precautions now though. Do look up the aqua crobes stuff, might just help, and certainly w...

You must be proud. :D I know all of you are giving the correct advise. I would have quarantined the small loaches at least. But a big one? Where do you quar...
