New additions (with photos)

Today I popped into my lfs on my way home from work and bought myself three clowns & two sids, I took great pleasure in annoying Jon (the manager) by insisting that he netted two particular clowns that had different markings. They are in my QT at the mo so it isn't easy to get a decent photo of them...

Hi all, I have finally got around to putting some dithers in with my Clowns. I bought 12 of these Rosy Tetra a few weeks back and they have now been moved into their new home, I think they are lovely and I might add another 6 to the school: - http://i463.photobucket.com/albums/qq355/astait/100_4450....

Thanks Emma, do you know when/where they will be available?

I have scouted the internet but no joy!! My clowns love the Hikari sinking pellets so I guess they will love this too.

He is a pangaius catfish, he will not be in that tank for much longer. I have had him since 1" and he is now approx 8" and I will be rehoming him once I have found a responsible and knowledgeable person to take him on.

That's a good point, he is not a long term resident and will be rehomed very soon. The tank is a little overstocked so the guppies & swordtails will be moved to another tank soon too.

New home for my Striata's & YoYo's

After moving my clowns into their new 2m tank I have set up a Juwel 350 corner tank in my lounge for my smaller loach & community fish and I thought I should share some pics: - http://i463.photobucket.com/albums/qq355/astait/100_4437.jpg http://i463.photobucket.com/albums/qq355/astait/100_4440.jpg h...

I tried putting a dozen neons in with my clowns once, the next morning there were five left then on the second morning there was only one lonely little neon there.

That one survivor was the largest and that is maybe why he wasn't eaten, you may get away with putting some fully grown adults in there.

Big Mouth

Hi, Can anyone tell me why one of my clowns opens his mouth as wide as he can repeatedly every now and then? He tends to do it in the morning & evening which makes me think he's yawning!!! I caught him on camera doing it yesterday, it looks funny: - http://i463.photobucket.com/albums/qq355/astait/10...

Thankyou all for your suggestions, it appears that opinion on this subject is divided so I will let the boss decide (who am I trying to kid she was always going to have the final say anyway). Here is a short vid of my new tank. I have yet to decide on what I am going to put in there as dithers, so any suggestions would be appreciated?

I throw my small cooked & peeled prawns in loose just before lights out so that all the loach can pick one up and go eat wherever they choose. However, I like to fix a 2" piece of cucumber out in the open so I can watch my little guys enjoy :- http://i463.photobucket.com/albums/qq355/astait/100_4284...

Thank you all for your comments.

Chefkeith, I am now not so comfortable with using the play sand so I will definately buy some pool filter sand or such like. I'll probably post the name/brand on here first though for your thoughts on it, that is if you don't mind?

Thanks again!!
