Re: update on tanks

The driftwood in the cover of the first and last video is really neat! Where did you get it? Oh how I wish I could keep clowns, but my footprint is far too small and I don't want to torture my fish.

Re: Unsuccessfull Botia kubotai keeping :(

Thankfully, my Barbs are only interested at nipping the fins of their own kind and have not bothered my Pangio oblongas or Pangio kuhlii. As for the CAEs, they are still small enough to be peaceful among the other fish. I'm going to try and keep my Barbs happy together, but in the event that they ma...

Unsuccessfull Botia kubotai keeping :(

Hello Everyone, I received so much help from your guys about my 20 US gallon high tank and its stocking. Unfortunately, after one of my two Botia kubotais died unexpectedly, my other one disappeared. I believe he may have made his way into a crevice in the driftwood and died there. I have not seen h...

Re: Pangio oblonga swimming in circles

Does anyone know why my 3 black khuli loaches swim in anti-clockwise circles against the front glass? They seem healthy enough but just seem to do this for the fun of it, I also have 4 x banded khulis (pangio myersi) which keep to themselves & generally grub about in the undergrowth, which is the n...

Re: Best filter for kuhlis

In that case, you may want to use a small powerhead or a bubbler to create some kind of water movement for the Kuhlis. Oh yes I definitely would, I think fish look really cute playing in bubbles my corydoras also like bubbles!! Val Please post pictures once you get your tank of Kuhlis up, we would ...

Re: Best filter for kuhlis

Thank you so much for your help, if I am going to use an external filter it would be more convenient for me if it stood on a separate table so I think I will look at the Fluval external range here in the UK, but thank you again. Val In that case, you may want to use a small powerhead or a bubbler t...

Re: Best filter for kuhlis

Well I can't find Aquaclear 50 here in the UK so would have to use a different external. :? Val Looks like you can order it from Petco.com... They ship to the UK through a service called iShipUSA or something like that. Here's the link to the item at Petco. http://www.petco.com/product/4051/AquaCle...

Re: Best filter for kuhlis

I don't use a power-head in my 20gallon. I find that a bubbler and the AquaClear 50 work fine together. My kuhlis are quite happy.

Re: The Aquarium Wiki Image Added!

WOW ! That is so much better, thanks :D Wonderful characterful fish. Is that a dorsal fin so far back on the body? Thank you! That is indeed a dorsal fin at the back of the body. :) I just love these Pangio oblongas. By far, my favorite fish so far (I haven't gotten to big enough tank sizes to expe...

Re: Best filter for kuhlis

For a 20 gallon long, I would use an AquaClear50 to provide extra filtration. I would also add an extra filter sponge, cut a small hole in it and place it around the intake for the filter so no loaches make their way into the filtration system.

The Aquarium Wiki Image Added!

Hi Everyone, I went to the aquarium wiki site and was looking at their information on Pangio oblonga, and noticed they didn't have an image of the little guy. So, I successfully added an image to the page! Forgive me, but this is extremely exciting to me. :) http://www.theaquariumwiki.com/Pangio_obl...

Re: Best Algae Eater for My Tank?

Part of the problem with a bristlenose in a 20 is that it is just too large a fish. No matter what they eat, vegies or algae off the sides of the tank it will all become waste. There is not a lot of protein in vegetable foods, but there is enough, and the decomposing waste is indeed too much for a ...

Re: Best Algae Eater for My Tank?

I will definitely consider one of the algae eaters that everyone suggested. Right now, I'm trying to re-home my Chinese Algae Eaters before they get huge and extremely aggressive. I am aiming to stock under 100% with a filtration capacity much higher than that, and to do so, I have to re-home those ...
