Hi, this sounds to me like a small tank for such a large fish as the Dojo.
However, I don't keep them so I would appreciate comments from those that do.
It would be helpful if this site recommended the aquarium size in the species profiles.

Re: algae treatments
I have had this algae ever since I rehomed my Sailfin Plec.
I have two Bristlenoses which are dealing with it effectively now after it got out of control.
Here you can see it being removed left to right:

Re: Is it enough space?
I think the Red-tailed Black Shark is a magnificent fish and can understand why you would want to keep one with Clown Loaches. I have done this successfully and so do many other people on this forum and elsewhere so I have no doubt that it can work. However, I would keep them in a much bigger tank t...

Sorry, that's completely new to me so I don't know what to suggest. Good luck though.

Re: moving clown loaches to their new home
When moving tanks there is always a good chance of ich re-occuring so watch out for this. My gut instinct with fish is to assume that if it can be swallowed it will be so I would not put a small Clown Loach in with bigger fish that could possibly do this. I don't understand what your other fish are ...

That looks great. I hope it goes well and reaches it's full potential.
I hope your water quality matches up to what I can see. That is the aspect that is the most important.

Re: Loach settling in help
Don't worry too much as everything will be OK (I know you can't help but worry). Mine disappeared into a log and I didn't see them at all for a full two weeks and then only because in desperation I tipped them out of their hiding place (I felt bad about that) !! I was sure they were dead but when I ...

Re: Feedback on new clown-tank lighting
Hi, I will kick things of for you, though I don't have a lot to add as I have not done much experimentation with lighting. I have 2 x 58W T5 tubes behind a perspex "coverglass" in my Clown Loach aquarium. At first I thought it was a little dim, but I am happy with it now I have fitted reflectors. I ...

Re: New to Loach Keeping
If your aquaria are one of your greatest pleasures in life as mine are, your partner will, given a little time, accept this and support you eventually (or leave LOL!). I think your Clown Loaches hold greater potential for joy long term and I urge you to develop this part of your hobby as it is ultim...

Re: My new tank
I loved the video that you provided a link to and I urge everyone to watch it fullscreen. I don't wish to be critical, but you could improve the video by shooting with the room lights off as there are many reflections that can be distracting from the excellent video. But thankyou again, I am full of...

Re: Do horseface loaches really do best in groups?
I now realise through the information provided here that long ago, when I knew considerably less about our hobby, I saw what were probably the Dwarf Horseface Loach Acanthopsoides molobrion in one of my local fish shops. They appeared to be very sociable and were housed on sand which they continuall...
