Re: Mudskipper paludarium- an alternative solution
Thanks, guys! How was it fitting the new piece of glass between the existing sides & frame. It would seem difficult? A stage after a few layers: Layers of what?? It was a bit difficult, since the end glasses are in between the long sides and had to be taken out first. But still doable. I cut the sil...

Mudskipper paludarium- an alternative solution
Hi all. I didn't want to go the traditional "sloping sandbeach"-route in creating a habitat for my mudskippers. To start with, I had three Periophthalmodon septemradiatus males. This is not the most aggressive nor largest species of 'skippers, but it still wants to form and defend a small territory....

Re: Balitora burmanica
Thanks for the info. Portland is a bit far from where I'm staying, but it's comforting to hear they are around. I sure would have preferred them to be Balitora s. I put the H. smithi s in a tank with breeding colonies of Sewellia lineolatas and Sewellia sp . spotteds and just as it says in the Loach...

Re: Balitora burmanica
Thanks for your contribution on this, guys!
I I like them, they are different from any other hillsters I have kept.
They are totally different from my H. orthogoniatas, however. Which I find interesting, actually.
More to follow.

Homaloptera smithis bought as Balitora burmanica
I dropped by at a local fs and found a nice surprise: http://kuvablogi.com/nayta/iso/img2949237.jpg https://lh6.googleusercontent.com/_6_StfLAs1LI/TWjrosDvzNI/AAAAAAAAAS8/x85X9v-5PdE/s512/DSC08813.JPG Half a dozen of these moved in. Anyone have anything special to say about them? Could anyone perhap...

Here's a pic of two specimens that are not too different in size, but are seemingly different in overall shape http://kuvablogi.com/nayta/iso/img2823783.jpg Is there something to notice in particular? Any guesses on gender? The one on the right is more roundinsh and has a wider "waist". That's a mal...

Some list of newcomers you've got there! Crazy... Yeah, I figured the same about the sexing part. Went hastily through ten'ish specimens and could not say any difference in overall shape. I got five lively, healthy, about 30 mm fish with me. Very happy with them. I saw Farid's succes, he presented i...

... They are good enough to make a big difference visually, but I'm being told they don't make it for the plants. ... Very impressive work on your tanks 8) Regarding the LED tech., this chart shows the plant-growth-relevant efficiency of variuos lamps. It's measured in 2 approaches. The summary sta...
