Re: Problem with 160 gallon rivertank
there is always some work on tanks isn't there? The least work would have been fixing the running system from outside, but as the glue softens the joints temporaryliy the water should get out. Would the joints be accessible at all? Looks on the 2nd pic. like the front sits on top of the baseplate. T...

Re: Glue for stones.
years ago I sent a mail to Pattex/Henkel asking about their clear hot melt sticks and got the reply from Pattex, that they were absolutely save under water, once cured completely. The only risk they pointed out, that reptiles could bite off little pieces and get a problem with breathing (mechanical ...

Re: Nuts ´n´ Trash (Garra rufa update)
just a quick shot of one of the Garra rufa from the previous page as an update, they spawn regulary, mostly involving a group. In one "hot night" they spread eggs about 3 - 4 times, which provides a fantastic snack for loaches and all others, including themeselfs too. Those are very friendly and con...

Re: Grayed out garras fighting or what's up?
forgot to mention that my "abnormal-greyed out" one (found no photo) has no red fins like yours Janne, just overall darker, here a pic. of the G.flavatra taking position starting the head to head duel and the grey-out similar to Charles' above http://i119.photobucket.com/albums/o143/wolfram37/Garra%...

Re: Grayed out garras fighting or what's up?
same here Janne, normaly the pic Charles shows, does apply exactly to my normal "play-fights" (as I call it) - including their eyes turning red (the dark stripes in the eyes remains black). But the current grey is different, shows the entire fish in much darker colour, I never witnessed that before....

Re: Grayed out garras fighting or what's up?
Janne, seems some coincident that I have one pretty greyd too recently. Normaly mine don't really grey a lot when they perform their "head-banging", which typically goes pretty relaxed non of the "players" actually claims anything afterwords, appears to be almost like some reaction training. But the...

Hello Odyssey, Wow, you have the perfect picture or video for any situation - this is truly outstanding, I really love this snapshot - thanks again 8) You are absolutely right Odyssey, the accident with the eye was due to a fight between 2 male Stiphodon, by that time I did not have any Sicyo's yet....

... their little backwards bent teeth also are differently arranged as on Stiphodon. ... my Sicyopterus do have at least 2 real tusk in the lower jaw. When trying to impend each other, they do open their mouth wide. I think they could easily bite an eye out. A while ago, I think I lost one Stiphodo...
