PLANNED POWER OUTAGE
At our condo complex they are updating all the electrical. I received notice that in mid January we would be without power for 8-10 hours while they make the changes. My fiancé is trying to come up with some kind of battery backup to at least keep something going in the aquarium. Unfortunately we ar...

Thanks, Nancy.
Not sure if you or Loach or anyone wants to spend thirty minutes to watch this, but I would like your opinions.

Re: Happiness is: Now Video too
I have a strong air stone right now but the output hoses I have pointed down so there is movement in the center of the tank. I don’t have debris accumulated anywhere I can see at least. I purchased a circulation pump for the surface and that should be arriving in a few days. So, in the meantime I’m ...

Re: WOOOOHOOOOO Seachem Matrix
Wonderful. See how the Prazi goes. But if the skinny doesn’t get better definitely Kusuri. Good luck.

Re: WOOOOHOOOOO Seachem Matrix
I’d finish the round of Prazipro and wait the time period and then clean out the Prazipro. Maybe give the tank a week to run and the fish to recover from one treatment and then begin the Kusuri. Are the skinny ones eating and active at least?

Thanks, Nancy.
I didn’t want to post inappropriately here with the Matrix thread. Thank you for mentioning it. Maybe I will try to move it if possible.
Thank you, as always, for your suggestions.

Re: WOOOOHOOOOO Seachem Matrix
Best of luck, Basil! My fiancé gets mad at me because he says my tank is supposed to give me joy yet I’m stressing about it all the time. Like you, if we didn’t care, we would just replace fish as they die off because the aren’t getting optimum care. But we do care. That’s why you’re going crazy and...

Re: Happiness is: Now Video too
And a power head at the surface is the best way to ensure there is enough oxygen?

Re: WOOOOHOOOOO Seachem Matrix
Hey, Basil.
You sound like me with the stress and steps you’re taking to get though your issues. It is a guessing game and process of elimination.
To bring it back to me selfishly, I expected a low nitrate reading again since my last check seven days ago. Nitrate off the chart! I’m sick!!

A Tale of Two “Teensies”
For those of you who don’t know, teensies refers to the very tiny clowns I purchased to add to my current duo. Though the current duo was never shy, they had paled in color since I moved them and their tankmates from a 55 to 120 over the summer. They are since coloring up though I doubt it has anyth...

Re: DISSOLVED OXYGEN TEST KITS
Thanks, Charles.
So, in the states, which test kit is the best to get an idea of the dissolved oxygen in my aquarium?
Thank you.
Fran

I’m not trying to argue or anything but are you saying, Bas, that the guy in the video is wasting his time? Or is this type of test not the same for aquarium use?
Thanks Bas and Nancy.

Re: DISSOLVED OXYGEN TEST KITS
I think my tank is adequately oxygenated. My fish don’t show signs of distress and I don’t think I’m overstocked. But now I’d like to know for sure.

DISSOLVED OXYGEN TEST KITS
Other than a professional, expensive digital monitor, is there a reliable test kit that measures dissolved oxygen? Now I’m getting paranoid over the amount of oxygen in my tank. Thanks, Loach!!
