Thanks Diana,
No he isn't with other fish now, he used to be in with silver dollars but he was such an awful bully to them I couldn't put up with it and took them out.

Hi,
I am new here as well!! and I too have only just started keeping clown loaches, they are brilliant aren't they? just one question, how do you keep the romaine lettuce in place? I have a veggie clip but am not sure if the loaches will feed from the lettuce if it is stuck on the side.

Having sand as a substrate.

Hi, I really like the look of sand - especially white sand - as a substrate, but when I tried it before (with apple snails) I couldn't seem to stop what I think was anaerobic bacteria? the sand almost turned black in places and smelled awful, so I now use tiny round pebbles. How can I have a nice de...

What is wrong with my Severum?

Hi, I have a large Gold Severum and over the last couple of months he has developed lumps and bumps all along his back at the base of his dorsal fin. in places they even look sore. He is eating fairly eagerly but not swimming around as much as he did, just wondered if anyone had any ideas as to what...

Oh they are REALLY good at hiding you would have to strip the tank out to find them, I'm sure they are fine though, don't worry they'll come out when they are hungry!! :) the best 'bait' is bloodworm (defrosted).

Oh thank you so much for giving me so many options to consider, but after much thought I have decided to keep it as a clown loach only tank at least for the time being, the reason for this is because they are still so small - although very lively - and I have fallen so much in love with them that I ...

Thanks so much for the info, I had wondered about the movement of the water at the top where the Gouramis would be. I can't decide though which fish would actually make the best tank mates, I have read that barbs can be fin nippers and are also aggressive to each other, zebra danios I feel would be ...

Do clown loaches need tankmates?

Hi everyone, I have 6 x 2" clown loaches in a 3' tank (temporarily), I was thinking of adding a pair of pearl gourami which I also like and which I was hoping would encourage the loaches to come out more during daylight hours, is this a good idea or is it better to just keep loaches in a species tan...

Hi everyone, I am the proud new owner of 6 x 2" clown loaches, I have had them just a fortnight so am still playing "spot the loach" :D I have read all of the Almanac and it is EXCELLENT, especially loved the home cooking part as I used to do something similar with gelatine to feed my huge apple sna...
