Re: Newbie setting up a loach tank.

Take a look here http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=06OzGWwkcR0 and then look for the same fish here: http://www.fishbase.org/identification/SpeciesList.php?genus=Puntius Or, it could be this one: Puntius (Dawkinsia) filamentosa “Filament Barb” is another beautiful cyprinid that grows long “filaments” f...

Re: Happy Halloween.

It's good to hear from you Martin. Congratulations on your marriage. Sometimes we have to empty the tank and rest awhile. I kept fish back in the 60's and 70's but here I am again five and a half years keeping fish again.

Please stop by again sometime and let us know how you are doing.

Re: My kubotai dream coming true

Real nice tank and fish. I don't mean to burst your bubble, but they do not look like kubotai. They look more like Botia histrionica

Re: Yoyo loach tank questions

Welcome to the forum. Glad that you joined.

This page may help with some of your questions. http://www.loaches.com/species-index/botia-almorhae

Yoyos get pretty big and you should be thinking about getting them a bigger tank in a year or so.

Re: The right kind of sand and tankmate questions

Welcome to the forum, Amy. There are a lot of nice folks on here and they can give you good advice. Just remember, what is good for one person may be always be good for someone else. Use your best judgement. I think it would be fine to put the zebra loaches in the 45 with the clowns. Yes, they shoul...

Re: Killer Clowns?

glad someone brought this back up. Last Wednesday I bought a clown loach (about 6") from the LFS. It had just been brought in by a guy with some other fish. He was moving and could not move his tank. Today I found the loach dead; with fins nip and frayed. I really think that my other clowns killed h...

Re: Loaches more and more shy

Since I moved my clown loaches (and other loaches) from their 125 into the new 240, they have been hiding. All the other fish are out and about, but not the clowns. They come out when the blue moon lights are on and when all lights are off. In the 125 they were always swimming out in the open. It's ...
