Graeme, I will definitely be happy if I can get to see the roe! :P Emma, i have 5 of them currently, still juvenile. 2 of them have an obvious lateral line across their sides, while the other 3 only have scattered spots. I was just wondering what will be the reason for this distinct difference. I ha...

I have 5 of them too. Cute fish that tend to stay in the midwater. I have also observed that they prefer to seek shelter among the plants (I have java moss and java fern in the tank) during lazy periods.

A different kind of loachy character altogether :)

That's good news! Once they have stablized, they'll live for quite a long while. Usually the journey from the suppliers to the importers is too tortuous for them, so they tend to arrive in dismal condition at the fish shop. Good luck and have fun with them! :D

ah...wrong ID. thanks for the clarification.

Syncrossus hymenophysa :)

So I guess it's the spots at the underside that are the differentiating factor?

Hi Emma, thanks for the help. I might be going down to the area to take a look. There are a few farms there, with some of them that cater to walk-in customers. So I might try my luck there and see if that supplier will entertain me as well :) And positive IDs yet? I suspected that they were Pangio a...

Looks like the ones that I got locally (in Singapore) a few years back. The last one died recently :(

Been trying to get hold of them again but didn't see them around.

Emma, is it okay to message me privately which supplier did you get them from? :)

Apparently the odd markings are attributed to hormonal injections as most clown loaches available in the market are bred in captivity as opposed to being wild caught, as mentioned by Emma. Clown loaches with odd markings used to be thought as an oddity and as the occurrences were low, they were view...

Do you mean the left side of the clown looks like the first picture and the right side of the clown looks like the second picture?
