Re: Clown loach hanging at top of tank........
^ + larger tank. Clown loaches really need large tanks that have nice long footprints, with good water quality and flow. Larger clown loaches are rare - you could always sell them to someone else if setting up a larger tank is not an option.

Re: When a bigger tank is not possible
Thanks for stepping in Diana & bookpage. I tried. Seems like some people, if they don't get the advice they want to hear, will just argue and argue. Whenever I argue back it just comes across as being mean, so now I just stop offering up advice if they act like that. You can lead a horse to water bu...

Re: Share your Loach Movies!
Awesome ! I like the oldest one where the bars are separating, how old is that one ? Thanks. Not sure how old he is, I bought him that size a few months ago. I would guess somewhere between 8-10? When I brought him home from the LFS he sloughed his slime coat off. It was so thick it clogged the bat...

Where are you located?
Edit: I live in Idaho and would be interested in them. They would be joining my shoal in my 210g.

Re: When a bigger tank is not possible
Um. 55 gallons really is not enough to house clown loaches for long periods of time. For a QT tank it's OK, but 75 gallons is really the minimum tank size you want, and even then you have to upgrade when they get larger. Here is a good beginner guide for keeping clowns: http://www.loaches.com/specie...

Re: strange behavior for clown loaches
Sounds like a pecking order squabble, pretty standard stuff for clown loaches. The color change you observed is called graying out. This article touches on it (near the bottom of the page)

For starters, can you please tell us what your water parameters are? Ammonia? Nitrite? Nitrate? Chances are that your local fish store is using a dip-strip test kit, which are known to be inaccurate. Get yourself an API liquid test kit if you can http://www.fosterandsmithaquatics.com/product/prod_di...

Re: Clown Loach Fry.
It doesn't really look like a clown loach (full one anyway) to me... the body doesn't really look like it is shaped right to be a full clown.
