Quietest filters?

Well, we have clearly exceeded threshold here (have added even since my last new-tank thread  ), and it is getting pretty noisy in here. Thank you Martin -- our river tank manifold is now much quieter, but there is water moving everywhere! And the hums of many motors moving it.... Any suggest...

You want to be able to enjoy your fish, right? You wouldn't get a big dog and keep it in a small kennel all the time, right? Because you would want to play with it, and watch it run, as well as because it would be animal cruelty. The same for your fish -- if they don't have room to swim and play, an...

I've got about 20 different glass containers out on the porch filled with smooth rocks, water and ferts, but the algae growing is slow!!!! Would love more suggestions (haven't tried Martin's "special ingredient" yet) Is it too cool at night? Should I have them under 24 hour lights?

Sorry, but no one here is going to suggest you do the wrong thing by putting clowns in that tank. If that is the biggest tank you have room for, why not consider smaller loaches? We "only" have a 120 gallon, so no clowns, but we LOVE our Kubotai, Striata, Rostrata... and for more color our Sumo loac...

He does say in the post he's in the US -- just not in the location line :)

We've used Frank and Wet Spot (many postings on aquabid, but you can ask for an updated e-mail listing) and both were good, Frank is great!

I was owndering about dario or histrionica, but she has had histrionica's there before, labelled as such.... She did say it looked like a botia of some sort.

Not a goby, although she told me about some striped gobies they got in as well....

Bumblebee Loach?

Just got a call from the fish store that they have something called "Bumblebee Loaches" She said they look a lot like YoYos, but thicker lines ... Anyone have any idea what they might be? Trying to decide if I should put my day's plans on hold and take a drive (and set up another tank :) )

For some fish it seems leaf litter is the equivalent of John Coltrane on the stereo, good red wine, candle light dinner...

Had not heard anything about tougher scales. Maybe I should try soaking in it!

Maple leaves? Apple leaves?

Most accounts of using leaf litter in tanks mentions Indian almond leaves, or alternatively oak leaves. Has anyone ever used maple leaves or apple leaves? Seeing as we live in Vermont, tropical trees don't grow 'round here, and mostly what we have is sugar maples, with some old apple trees. Is there...

Be careful if you are still single -- Cloudhands was just saying it's a good thing we got into this together, 'cause if either one of us had 10 tanks (or even 7!) when we were dating it probably would have been a deal breaker ("he seemed so great, but when I went over to his place there were fishtan...
