Hmm.... No response yet. I'm sorely tempted to come up with a plan to keep my fish. Does anyone have any idea how long I've got till my juvenile kubotai really gets too big for this tank? His current 3cm length really does seem fine in a 2 foot tank, though I can see why he'd get uncomfortable once...

No, it didn't look like chinese algea eater- it wasn't elongated enough, and lacked the stripe. It was proportioned more like a skunk or clown loach, just bigger. clowns get huuuuge! there is/was a thread on here which mentioned that b. rostrata lose the stripes and get very "blotchy" as they get o...

I wouldn't add any more fish to a tank that size - the angels and clowns probably don;t have enough room already. "brown algae" is, I think, usually diatoms rather than true algae and should die off of its own accord - you don't tend to get it in an estavlished tank. To the best of my knowledge, nei...

yes it's eating and all All the other fish in the tank has been moved to another one, just in case she lays some eggs  you've left the other clowns behind, yes? I have to say I might be worried about dropsy - not that I have any experience of keeping clowns, but (s)he does look bloated. I thi...

thank you everyone!
Thank you for the advice; the prospect of decorating a small room has now reverted to a relatively simple task rather than a completely horrendous one. And I never cease to be amazed at the useful stuff Emma knows, it's quite incredible! I tend to use the water-based gloss anyway (much as the other ...

thanks Graeme!
thanks Graeme, that sounds reassuring. How long did you leave the blanket over the tank? And did you move it away from the wall (if it was close to one, that is.) This unit can only really be moved if you break it all down into its smallest possble components (not to mention draining the tank. urk.)...

decorating - loaches and paint fumes?
My daughter's room needs painting. It's very small, and has a 39 gallon tank in it, with kuhlis, lambchop rasboras, dwarf gourami and four (possibly five) baby yoyos. It will be an enormous pain in the backside to get the tank out of the room (it's one of those ones with a big wooden cabinet - that ...

goldfish. hrrrm. there's a big question as to temperature & goldfish; a lot of fancy goldfish enthusiasts keep theirs in heated tanks, and many goldfish enthusiasts of all kinds think goldfish do better in warmer rather than colder water. They certainly don't grow much in colder temperatures - other...
