I have one h. confuzona left, they're one of my favorites! I may have a normani, not sure. What I have, sold as "Vietnam butterfly loach", are very shy. Wetspot has had both recently.

"Hillstream loach" is a very general term. Could be any number of fish. Which sp. are you planning to get? It sounds like you're going way overboard on water movement.

I'd suggest that you either get more clown loaches, or find the one a good home with more of his kind.

My guess is that the stiphodon are all the same sp odyssey. The dark ones are displaying for the ladies.

"Skinny disease" does not exist. If the wasting is caused by protozoa, yes, I've had better results with flubendazole. If it's something else, mycobacteria for insance, different ballgame. Read the links at the site that I inked.

I think your filter being at the same level as your tank is most of the problem. To start a siphon you want the out let well below the intake.
