Re: Annamia normani and Homaloptera confuzona

I have one h. confuzona left, they're one of my favorites! I may have a normani, not sure. What I have, sold as "Vietnam butterfly loach", are very shy. Wetspot has had both recently.

In a 15 gallon tank? That's just ridiculous. I had an AC 70, 400gph, in a 20 long and it was too much.

Re: hillstream loach setup

"Hillstream loach" is a very general term. Could be any number of fish. Which sp. are you planning to get? It sounds like you're going way overboard on water movement.

I'd suggest that you either get more clown loaches, or find the one a good home with more of his kind.

Re: Hypergastromyzon

Did they look like these Jim? http://www.gunpowderaquatics.net/gastromyzon-psiloetron/ I don't think this is a positive ID. They also had hypergastromyzon at the time so possibly from the same supplier. Don't leave them in the store! :) Stores rarely take sufficient care of gastros IME and they only...

Re: Looking for Levamisole

"Skinny disease" does not exist. If the wasting is caused by protozoa, yes, I've had better results with flubendazole. If it's something else, mycobacteria for insance, different ballgame. Read the links at the site that I inked.

This is where I buy flubendazole, which works better for me. Levamisole also available.

Re: CANISTER VS HOB FILTER? HEATERS?

I have an eheim 2217 and an aquaclear 110 on my 75gal, plus a powerhead with sponge pre-filter. Just right for me.

Re: adapting my filter

I think your filter being at the same level as your tank is most of the problem. To start a siphon you want the out let well below the intake. You likely have difficulty when doing water changes also. The blue sponge removes larger debris, the white pad smaller stuff. Putting a sponge filter in the ...

Re: adapting my filter

The sponge insert (the blue one?) shouldn't be the problem. Did your filter come with the quick disconnects? Are you filling the cannister after cleaning? I try to fill it through the top hose after replacing the top so it's as full as possible. My 2217 usually primes on it's own but occasionally I ...
