Oh these are lovely pics, really nice and clear, must be a good camera you have!! I wonder how much these fish eat in the wild? would they grow bigger faster if we fed them twice as much??

Silver dollars as tankmates

Hi,
In our LFS they have medium sized clowns in a tank with silver dollars, there is a huge bubble wall at the back of the tank and they all seem very happy!! :D
Has made me start thinking that silver dollars would make very good tankmates, has anyone else got these in with their loaches?

Yes, I agree, apart from when I turn the tank light out I hardly ever see them.

Oh WOW!!! these are really nice pics!!! the zebra loaches look really nice with the clowns, where did you get that gorgeous tree stump in your tank - such a lot of lovely hiding places, also that cone feeder looks really interesting, so much cleaner than dropping it all on to the substrate. Zebras go pretty good with the Clowns and it is good that they remain smaller - that way your Clowns will obviously be the head Loach in the tank. I would not recommend the B. Modesta - they can get aggressive and might nip at your Clowns, or worse yet, bully and intimidate them.. Well obviously B....

Thanks for replys, decided against mixing the species as the zebra ones which I liked are considerably smaller than the clowns which I already have. Perhaps sometime I will set up another tank!!

Can you keep different types of loach together?

Just wondering really what would happen if I put 6 of another type of loach e.g. Blue botia or Zebra loach in with my 6 clown loaches, would they shoal together? or would they squabble?
