Re: Sicyopterus sp,"mountain rock goby"

Hi
Awesome once again.
I love Sicyopterus spp and have still one S. griseus(?) of the first shipment back in 2011, living now (after moving twice in town) in a 600 liter tank.

Re: Homaloptera bilineata

Hi
Not seen on a exporter-list since 2013, no catches since as far I know.
Why not Homaloptera parclitella?
I wouldn't mix Homaloptera or Serpenticobitis with Botia.

Re: Do hillstream loaches sift through sand?

HI
Yes. G. ocellatus.
About Pseudogastromyzon: NO idea. I have some pics of identified P. cheni and P. myersi. But that's based on the key seen on loaches profiles. By pattern and coloration we have no clue to identify them.

Re: Do hillstream loaches sift through sand?

Hi Generally speaking, the digestive section of Borneosuckers is down. After weeks without food, they get a first "load" at the importer. Not all can turn the system on again, it's not a switch. It happens, that a catcher resigns to get them out of the tank because they look too week. On the other h...

Re: Do hillstream loaches sift through sand?

Hi I wouldn't relay on a site that is stealing pics everywhere - three in the link are mine; do I see a notice about the author? Other pics in other priofiles- and giving wrong informations. You want an example? "their mainly diet should be algae, and other vegetable matter" That's nonsense and the ...

Re: Hillstream loach ID

Hi Erica I presume you haven't read "Borneosuckers" by H.H. Tan? It's the refence for Borneo-hillies. Till now, no pic of living specimen existed of G. contractus . The identification is possible with the description in the book. Tan stated, that Roberts made notice of red/orange dorsal and caudal f...

Re: Do hillstream loaches sift through sand?

Hi (however your name may be) It's B. kweichowensis. The fact, that they don't grow: they are slowly growers. In this case, they don't get enough food too. In nature they are constant grasers - on bolders, not on sand. As a matter of fact it's useless to feed them with algae in a tank. No food value...
