Re: Damselfly with hillstream loaches

If you're sure it's a damselfly and not a dragonfly, you might be ok. If you get a population of Daphnia going in there it should get enough to eat. All round though, safest just to put it in a pond somewhere. Put some pictures up if you can!

Fantastic video! I do think you have enough sids, though. What a sight.

Pond filter vs. aquarium filter

I've been thinking about getting a new filter recently. Is there any particular reason not to get a pond filter for a biggish tank rather than forking out a fortune for one of the bigger Eheim filters etc?

Re: My Chinese freshwater fishes

I can see all of the pictures fine now. Thank you for sharing them.

Opsariichthys evolans are so beautiful. It's a shame they are so difficult to keep in captivity.

Re: Vacation Feeders

Healthy, decent sized fish will be absolutely fine without feeding for a week - 2 weeks in a well planted tank.

There should be a rule about having to post pictures if you're going to talk about your fish like that! :P

Re: Aquarium inhabitants you might not have bargained for!

I have springtails (Collembola) living on the surface of the floating plants in a couple of my tanks. I was quite surprised one day to find a very small centipede there, hunting the springtails! I'm quite happy for them to be there, especially as I imagine one occasionally jumps into the water and g...
