Espo: The shoal of tiger barbs peaked at 8 when they were dither for my clowns. They seemed to eat themselves to death, it was to the point where I couldn;t feed the clowns until after the lights were out becuase the tiger barbs would eat EVERYTHING! They just got really fat and died.... The second ...

Random picture (b. histrionica)

There are 3 of these guys in with the Clowns. This guy is clearly the runt of the litter. He has no issue getting to the food, he is just growing slower than his 2 brothers  http://www.loachtank.com/albums/userpics/10087/IMG_0864%20copy.jpg I think I may have already posted this one, but here's...

Nice pictures and a nice pickup on the skunks. I have 3 in a 40 gallon long with a rainbow shark and a b. helodes. I had originally bought only 1 skunk, but damn they can be mean and really seem to need their own company. The only other time I've seen skunks around here they are babies, so I bought ...

My .02

I would be a little concerned about the Rainbow Shark, as he grows he will probably claim the entire bottom of the tank as his  . They tend to get aggressive and territorial as the age. I had to move mine away from the clowns and in with the skunks.

Again, only my .02 :D

that is too good... it hurts my eyes just looking at the photo of the tank and then it came to me that it is not a 180 gallon but a 180L!!!! It reminds me of a joke... so this guy walks into a fish store and says "give me one of everything" That's perfect :D I actually thought the tank was a 180 g ...

One more less obvious choice would be a river tank! A nice long tank would be great for some hillstreams and with some white clouds for dithers. Erik I agree 100%. I actually have a 20 long setup as a river tank using 3 AquaClear 201 powerheads, a Whisper 30 HOB filter and a couple of airstones. Be...

Other fish....

Hello all. I'm a little curious to hear what other fish besides loaches everyone keeps and do you keep these fish with your loaches or in other tank(s)? Also, does keeping other (non-loach) species with loaches change your feeding regiment? Does anybody here keep marine tank(s)? Personally, besides ...

New additions from the qtank

These little guys just came out of the qtank a couple of days ago. They're settling in nicely and let me take a picture...just one...they darted away as I took the picture  The glass is a little dirty :( and I took the picture from across the room using the optical zoom on the camera. http://w...

One thought - have you noticed the RTBS making a nuisance of himself? They can be quite territorial and might be harassing the clown so that he takes refuge in his "spot". As I was reading this thread I was thinking the same thing :D tttnjfttt: Can you post a picture of the tank? What are the dimen...

My vote would be yes. The patterns are almost never the same and as the fish grows so will the markings.

Yea I would say B. helodes, although I must warn you that it is very difficult to tell when specimens, such as the one in your photograph are so young and small. As they mature, body patterning tends to change. If it doesnt, you know for sure its B. helodes. Mike The vertical orientation of the ova...
