Re: ATM Colony

I'm surprised no one has showed interest in this stuff, they give it good reviews here.

Re: Fluval Fx 6

I haven't got one but I really like the way you can alter the direction of the in/out tubes. Looking at the inside on Youtube, I still favour Eheim, I have their large external canister filter - brilliant.

Powerheads/Wavemakers with a feed mode

Some of the powerheads that have a separate control have a "feed mode" where they click off for so many minutes to allow the fish to feed. I have always turned off my canister filters at feedimg time otherwise the food just gets blown everwhere, this would be a good feature on any surface filter. co...

Re: Sand for loaches?

I was hoping not to use sand, I found it difficult to clean and it keeps going up the gravel cleaner I was thinking of some fine rounded gravel which I have, but not sure I have enough of it for them to bury themselves .

Re: Powerheads

Thanks for all the info guys. NancyD re: your loach down the garbage disposal I was changing the black sand substrate in an Ember Tetra tank, I was sure I had netted them all out (really easy with a large net) slow moving shoaling fish. I started to jug out the sand and remaining water and was pouri...

Re: Powerheads

Thanks Nancy looked this one up and it gets good reviews. One guy says he uses it as an external water pump attached to other filters???? didn't understand what he has done. If I stick the suckers to the side of my tank would the water came out at front/up in the air or out the bottom? for so...

Powerheads

Can anyone recommend a powerhead that is reasonably priced, will move up to 1000-2000 gallons of water per hour, and quiet running.
I was looking for something that would also hold some floss, there are just SO many to choose from
so any suggestions would be very gratefully received.

Re: Starting a tank for Weather loaches

Please help!!!!!!! After sorting through power heads and planning a tank that's 'in the fast lane' I'm watching this film and he says they like minimum movement. I hate it when info is contradictory when you're trying to learn, so again I'm relying on you guys to sort me out. It's about halfw...

Re: Starting a tank for Weather loaches

Thanks for your reply Diana I have "spoken" to you many times before when I was on here. Not sure if the pictured substrate would disintegrate I liked it because it's nice and round. What substrate would you recommend? and how many loaches could I keep in my aquarium, any tankmates who also like fas...

Hello everybody, I used to be a member of this forum a lifetime ago!! I have watche...
