Re: Caring for 5 SUPER TINY Clowns - HELP!
Whelp. I don't know what to tell you. Clown loaches can be a hard one to sex. My guys are about a year and a half and 1 1/2 - 2 1/2 inches and I can barely begin to understand them. maybe someday there will be an exact science. xD

Re: please help fast
Well I'm not sure how long you've been keeping clowns, but they do sleep on their sides opposed to flat on their bellies. You could be seeing the guy taking a nap. The large abdomen could be a plethora of things, so finish the ich treatment and keep an eye on it. Give them some veggies like raw broc...

Re: Emergency body slime, eye cloud, bloody eyes
Well it's good to hear things are starting to turn up, finally. continue with treatments and hopefully we'll see a full recovery soon. The loaches should calm down after things return to normal and they're done fighting for alpha status.

Hey guys. I need some help again. My QT has been overrun! But with what, I'm not sure. I've been keeping up pretty well with keep the QT clean, but these last week or so the feeding has been left to my better half due to my late work schedule. Unfortunately, when I came home, one of my baby bala sha...

Re: Emergency body slime, eye cloud, bloody eyes
This is a strange series of events, indeed. Do you have a tank you can move everybody into while you clean the tank? If it is a fungus that's capable of adhering to the stones, food, ornaments, and ect., it would be best to clean these items in hot water to try to kill off the fungus. You might have...

Re: Is my clown loach dying???
Well, propping can be normal for these guys and the swimming around at all angles could be due to either damage or infection of the swim bladder due to wounds. Separate the little fish and start treating him with anti-bacterial medications such as Maracyn one or two. I use tetracycline for a general...

Re: Aquascaping Issues. UPDATE! YAY!
I used to give them lettuce tethered down to rocks and such to keep them chewing on everything else, but that didn't help too much. The loaches loved it. They just continued to chew everything up. I have convinced my better half to let me keep the QT running as a nursery while it's not being used fo...

I'd say the one in the back is curved inward as well.redshark1 wrote:OK, I can see the difference now that you have drawn it on.
However, what about the third tail that you have not drawn on?
That looks rather similar to the one on the left, if you see what I mean?

Re: Caring for 5 SUPER TINY Clowns - HELP!
It took me more than an hour to so much as get a hand full of useless, blurry photos from my race car team of clowns, so I used the image you provided, actually. http://i927.photobucket.com/albums/ad116/B34Rz/fishends_zps763003c5.png It's a slight curve inwards in comparison, but to me it's perfectl...

My balas chew on EVERYTHING! Oh gawd. I've got some smaller ferns that have lasted me a year or so, but they don't stay put. I find them all bunched up in the corners of the tank during cleanings. I've always referred to them as little lawn mowers. My brother swears they were highered help.

http://i927.photobucket.com/albums/ad116/B34Rz/Those_Underrated_Bottom_Dwellers_1_zpsb865c28a.gif I'm not sure if this is a bit backwards for clowns but I nicked this image from the webz and I've used it as a basis for sexing my own clowns. SI've always been under the impression that the female had...

I've never heard of anything like that. I know dojo loaches dig a lot. Do you have stones or anything like that in the QT?

Re: New golden dojo loach sick
Did you Quarantine the loach before adding him to the community tank? Ich can cause some serious damage in loaches, but I've never heard of a fin going missing. Do you have any fish that may have bitten him? Even small mouths can cause a lot of damage down the line. The labored breathing could be du...

Re: Emergency body slime, eye cloud, bloody eyes
Septicemia will also appear with red streaks on the fins and a sort of puss surrounded red wounds. The wounds are usually pretty deep and wide. If you suspect that to be the issue, treating with Epsom salt to help pass whatever may be blocking the digestive system may do you well, and will help get ...

Re: Clown Loach helpwith diagnosis and treatment of caudal f
Well, your pH is on the higher range, but nitrite and nitrate levels look good. If it was GH being tested, that also looks to be at a medium level and shouldn't be too horrible. Try to bring your pH closer to 7.0 and treat with melafix to help the fins regrow. You might be dealing with a scar that m...
