If the others fish come off the glass, maybe they will start foraging for food. As far as helping them start eating the food, they generally have to do that themselves. If they are going to make it, they will eventually find food and eat. You might want to give them some frozen bloodworms, they real...

I personally wouldn't keep beaufortia with any botias. That being said, I haven't done so for any length of time. Maybe someone else on this board has and can tell you how it would work out. I would be afraid that the shy ones you have would not get enough to eat. The bold one might do better, but, ...

I have praecox rainbows with kubotai, sids and pulchra. I have golden white clouds and choprae danios in my two river tanks. And, in my creek pool tank(hillstreams, gobies, bumblebee cats and V. maasai) I have brilliant rasboras. In another tank I have chopraes with sids, schisturas and botia rostra...

Nice fish, Graeme. What size is it? I used to have some of what were sold as peppered loaches in my original river tank but they were probably L. gunthea. They got to be about 4" long and were very cool fish. They tended to hide too much, though. I now have what looks like a minature version, more l...

Hillstreams often don't compete well for food with species that are even a bit more aggressive. I have never kept sids or kubotai with them, but would be a bit cautious, particularly with the sids. Others may have a different opinion. I have kept hillstreams with Botias dario and striata and Sinobot...

Both sids and kubotai are great fish. Sids, however, do have a tendancy to chase the dither fish in the tanks. I keep both together and have a healthy population of large amano shrimp that the loaches don't seem to bother.
I would, however, be a bit cautious of keeping a hillstream with these guys.

Great choice for dithers. Tigers look very nice when they color up. Maybe if you add them, the clowns will be out during evening "couch time". :) By the way, that tank is really looking good. I like the mix of cobbles and sand as well as the wood and plants. It looks very natural. The clowns seem to...

I thought I had heard of this somewhere on the petfrd.com site, but when I did a search, I couldn't find anything.
It sounds like it might be one of the many red finned/tailed schisturas.
I guess you will just have to go see for yourself.
By the way, nice antlers :)

And how 'bout those HORNS :D

I would recommend trying Omega One Veggie tablets and Hikari frozen mysis, brine shrimp and bloodworms for variety.

Be very careful when feeding them snails, that they come from a disease free source. I, unfortunately, learned that the hard way.
