Yes! This video from the late 80s is so long and so pretentious - but it's still a good song, and a great pretentious video. Vapid and repetitive, but you wouldn't be able not to dance if it was live. In those days, who among us wasn't the owner of a lonely heart? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ELpm...

Let's just hope that federal politicians around the world keep steering clear of rap.

The first ten minutes were a bit irritating - I don't know why he kept that animation, the video game thing... But by the end it's actually quite moving. Glad you liked it.

I just watched Where in the World is Osama bin Laden . Very clever and very bold. I'd like to say it's a worthy outing just because the broad light it shines on Islam is full of surprises. Morgan Spurlock has moxie. I like that in his two films. There is a kind of built-in frustration, though. Whet...

I don't know if there's a formula for this, but my clowns (and other Botiids) got cucumber every evening. What was left was lifted out each morning. As long as they have other foods - bloodworms, good flake, etc - they should do very well.

I think you should keep their water clean and stable and keep a close eye on their feeding. Keep it mixed and don't overfeed. Minimize stress to the fish and make sure they have somewhere out of the light to go if they want to. Make sure not to contaminate their Q-tank with any other fish or tank wa...

This won't be big enough for them for very long. Plus you'll get better action out of them if they can be in a slightly larger shoal. A 24G cube would be perfect for growing some plants, adding some shrimp, and a shoal of very small fish like tetras. I wouldn't say it's overstocked, but loaches (all...

This video keeps getting taken down, but it's Queen. Here's a very good hi-fi version. Great song, but horrible video - sometimes vice versa. That this song mattered at all makes the entire decade of the 80's seem lurid for some reason.

Who knew this existed? Frank Zappa working with the Ensemble Modern prior to the Yellow Shark recording and shows... Fantastic. IMO, Yellow Shark is the greatest achievement of American music in the 20th century. You get a taste of it here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6LYPsasYlHY http://www.youtu...

Time for some more. This is really strange, and it was really strange when it came out - the same week as Tom Waits' Swordfishtrombone. An amazing and weird turn in American music with Laurie Anderson's O Superman. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0hhm0NHhCBg And Mach 20 by same. Excellent viewing: ht...

Very off topic

I know a lot of you don't participate in the OT forum, so I'd like to invite you to a very non-political subject over on the OT. I'm trying to petition people for anecdotes about spiders. I know this has nothing to do with loaches, but please check out the thread on the OT and offer whatever you may...
