Hi,
More than friendly they might be hiding in the substrate/decor to be unseen for ages. Im not sure about he ph and hardness between the two. maybe around 7.0.

A few corydoras would be a better choice for a small tank. Maybe Cory. Panda. They are very small and cool

You should get a 3 or 4 foot to start off in and you can upgrade to a 6 ft eventually.
