I would not plan to keep loaches in a 10gal tank for very long, I hope that is just a temporary set up. In my opinion, I would not get any more loaches until you get a larger tank. I don't know how big Dojos get, but 10gal seems too small for any loach. I have 5 small Clowns in 55 gal tank, and plan...

Ich Prevention???
I have read articles on Ich treatments, but nothing much on prevention. I understand the benefit of a q-tank in preventing the introduction of ich from new tank mates, but is there anything else that I can do as a preventative measure? None of my fish show symptoms of Ich, but I want to do all that ...

Huh...I never thought my neons as a tasty snack for my clowns, until now. So far I think I still have all my neons, but when the loaches get larger, they may go the way of my ghost shrimp. Neons are all more than 1" in length, a few are 1.5" long The red-eye tetra are a bit bigger than the neons, th...

I am cleaning the tank (continued from yesterday) I found one of the dozen shrimp! I broke down the loach lair to clean the gravel and there it was. A black and fuzzy rotting corpse. Kinda gross...and STINKY!!! I am going to go out on a limb and say the corpse was responsible for my ammonia levels...

Clowns eat shrimp???
I have 5 clowns, none are more than 3" long, and 40-ish tetra (neons and red eye). 2 weeks ago I added a dozen ghost shrimp to help keep the tank clean. I saw them for a while, but now they have disappeared as their name suggests. I am doing a water change today and stirring things up a bit...but st...

ok picked up a hydor koralia 2 power head rated for 600 gph, I have added more plants. A recent test showed ammonia at 0.50ppm. I have added ammo chips in a nylon bag and placed it in the filter. So while I am doing a water change today, I need to figure out the proper placement of the new power hea...
